Fit it and forget it headphones
For me, comfortableness contributes half the feat to "get lost in the music". I'm not so sure if there any crappy SQ cans which are super comfortable coz I would never consider such a thing, unless seeking for ear muffles. However if a superb sounding phone designed to torture, I'll never "get...- WorldsEndWombat

Fit it and forget it headphones
With my limited experiences, DT-880 and Shure 1840 fit me quite well, which made me forgot their existence now & then. Senn HD600 & 650's clamping force is a bit too much for me. Grados are darn uncomfortable mostly due to their itchy pads.- WorldsEndWombat

Seeking recommendation for a desktop amp driving both hd600 and rs1
Addicted to loudspeakers for quite sometime unfortunately now I need to turn back to cans (due to space & noise tolerance limitations, etc.) Lukily I still keep two pairs of phones I like - HD600 and RS1 (semi vintage B). I sold all my head amps, now driving both with headphone output of my...- WorldsEndWombat

Dac/Portable Amp for Sr125i
I got a ADL Stride recently, which drives my RS1 really good, in my opinion, on par or even better than RA1 (in memory). Not sure about SR125 but it won't be bad. However the Stride is not made for sensitive IEMs. On my SE530, the hiss at quieter background and gaps is almost unbearable. So if...- WorldsEndWombat

Aussie & NZ Head-Fiers Corner
Check in. How did I only find this thread today?! A question for Gwarmi, notice you keep both V200 and plenty of Grados. Does v200 drive Grados well, esp. RS1 and 325i? I just got rid off my RA1 and not entirely satisfied with direct driven by HP-A7 phone jacks. Start accumulating...- WorldsEndWombat

"Folk Rock"
Thanks for recommending Paul, I'll check other Denver gothic country bands. I doubt if 16HP ever came to Down Under. I have both of their live DVDs but live is definitely much better. I'm also quite into some US "Freak Folk" stuff - Big Blood from Maine, Spires That in the Sunset Rise from...- WorldsEndWombat

"Folk Rock"
I love 16 Horsepower a lot, which later evolved into Woven Hand, still classified as Folk Rock but more on experimental side. David Eugene Edwards is a genius.- WorldsEndWombat

ONKYO DAC 1000 32/192 USB asynchronous
Dig up this old thread. Before I decided to invest on HP-A7, I compared these few interesting Japanese USB DACs on this page: http://alturl.com/oruht Price wise they are all on par. DAC-1000's advantage is more input options, but lacks of amp section and phone jack. What prompt my decision...- WorldsEndWombat

Comparing 5 good DAC/AMPS ..... and one EASY winner ...
Thanks for this write-up, I'll definitely compare the two. BTW, the tests you did were comparing the DAC+amp combo holistically. Any tests via analog-in for Amp session only? I know Headstreamer doesn't have analog in. Also, besides Vsonic GR07, any chance you tried Shure or Westone universal...- WorldsEndWombat

Comparing 5 good DAC/AMPS ..... and one EASY winner ...
This is interesting indeed. Judging from money alone Pico would be a clear winner, so that's what I've been considering for, in fearing Headstreamer stuff won't perform decently. Also, did you get a chance to compare your new ADL Curise with the gang? Just out of curiosity. Form factor or size...- WorldsEndWombat

Fostex HP-A8 DAC/Amp and other Fostex gear
Nothing new? Amazon JP starts selling it and a Japanese customer gave it a high praise http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B0078BEYJ2/ref=asc_df_B0078BEYJ2555032/. Unfortunately you need to do Google translation and read broken English.- WorldsEndWombat

Last.fm Registry
http://www.last.fm/user/hugehair checked, I have very low compatiability with most folks here. I mostly listen to experimental electro, freak folk, rythmic noise, dark and free jazz stuff, which suppose to be "lo-fi"- WorldsEndWombat

Furutech Cruise ..... First impressions and observations ...
Looking forward to a more comprehensive review from Downsize. I've been seriously considering between the Cruise and Stride these days. Their flexibility, performance and mobility based on so far very limited reviews are what I exactly need. If the only difference is exterior, I'd eventually...- WorldsEndWombat

Playing Lars Danielsson's latest "Liberetto" now in the background. This is so nice! Thanks for recommending GadoGado! Now I'm more into Nordic Jazz than Continental Euro Jazz, very tasty.- WorldsEndWombat

Getting the most out of my Grados (For not too much)
Lucky you! Nobody even buy me an iGrado. Lots of such threads in the forum. Search for "best amp for rs1", you would be immediately swamped. Since you listen out directly from laptop or ipod, a dac/amp combo would do better job than amp alone.- WorldsEndWombat

Australian Headphone Retailers and Reputations [LISTING]
Len Wallis in Lane Cove is not specialised on head-fi but they do have high end Senns and Stax, a couple head amps as well. Eastwood Hifi is a nice shop for source and loudspeakers. In my memory they've only ever sold 2 models of head/earphones, both Yamaha. Castle Hill Hifi has...- WorldsEndWombat

Scandinavian Folk
Sweet! I was not able to list all I've been listened. Definitely love Sorten Muld, Ölof Arnalds & so. And yeah, Nordic folk singing in Scandinavian languages should be in majority there, and heard Finland is the country who saves most of its traditional cultural, which is of a bit of rarity in...- WorldsEndWombat

Cans for Rythmic Noise???
Tried 595 driven by a dac zero 09 phone jack at friend's place - sounded fuzzy, muddy and unbreakable when playing my fav Converter album, could be amp issue though. I don't know Denons are on the bright side, not from I read so far in the forum though.- WorldsEndWombat

Cans for Rythmic Noise???
Anyone into bands such as Empusae, Converter, Winterkalte, Hysteresis, 5F-X, Suicide Inside here? I found these are the most exciting music play out loud from speakers. However with headphones, they are just too much! With Grados I simply cannot tolerant rythmic noise for more than an hour. I...- WorldsEndWombat
