Definite thumbs up to George at Addicted To Audio - and thanks also to Gwarmi for helping me with the initial contact.  Purchased a pair of SE535 Special Edition - and they arrived today.  Communication has been excellent throughout.  George, Rendra and Nella were simply outstanding.  Packaging for international transit was top notch - among the best I have seen.

Great selection, great pricing, great service - what more could you want!

Len Wallis in Lane Cove is not specialised on head-fi but they do have high end Senns and Stax, a couple head amps as well.

Eastwood Hifi is a nice shop for source and loudspeakers. In my memory they've only ever sold 2 models of head/earphones, both Yamaha.

Castle Hill Hifi has Denon, Senns and Denon, but wayyyyyy too pricy, can you imagine K701 at A$1K and D7000 at A$2.2K? Not even in my wildest dreams!

+ 1 from me for Headphonic, bought Alessandro MS2 from them back in 2008.

Another vote for Headphonic. I bought an Alessandro MS1i a few weeks ago and no issues at all.

-1 for Jaben. Sent an email to them a week ago asking for information on stock of the HE-500 and have not received a reply.

I bought a few things from George in the last couple of weeks. Spotless as usual.

@Scott Yes, I understand that, I have experienced the same thing with Jaben. Hopefully they can improve their customer service in the near future.

i don't think that should be a minus for them, I've dealt with the big 3 (a2a, headfonic and jaben) and Josh at Jaben is quite good from my experience, I have asked him the same question with the HE-500 and he said they'd be in stock in 3-4 weeks and that was 3 weeks ago so they should be in soon, he said he'd get back to me too but not yet. :p

OK make it a -0.5 then. Either way if they have an email address listed on their website and they don't bother to respind to queries then it is a negative.

Was a real simple question of HE-500 stock levels which you obviously have the information about, so this just highlights that there is no reason why they should not have replied to my email.

Even if they had no idea when they were getting stock, they should have at least replied with a message saying such.

However you cut it this is still a negative.

By way of comparison I emailed Headphonic a few weeks ago and got a reply no problem, so not sure why we should cut Jaben some slack over not replying.

It's okay, I haven't even put my negative feedback in.

On customer service, A2A's is the best (replied usually/always on the day) followed by Headphonic (1/2 business days). The difference b/w A2A and Headphonic is just that A2A has much much more warmth in them. On Jaben, I'd just say they desperately need a lot of improvement in their customer service dep. DJ Warehouse replies also within two business days. Haven't dealt with the others but I will update you guys if I do get in touch with them.

Must admit that I have had good experiences with both Jaben, Headphonic and A2A via email, all were excellent.  Josh at Jaben is a really cool guy and is super friendly and nice when you visit the store.  He's also extremely patient and understanding.  Likewise, the guys at A2A made you feel like you were visiting their home, they are absolutely great and have some insanely good gear in the store.

You can add a +1 for Jaben Audio, purchased a pair of IEMs yesterday and he was very helpful and had a few laughs with my mates that came along.

Cheers

Hi Scott,

Unfortunately I can't seem to find your e-mail! Occasionally things get lost in the spam filter and I think yours might be one of the few unlucky ones.
In regards to the HE-500, we were told a few dates which turned out to be incorrect so we've stopped saying dates and all I can say is "soon"

To nikp, I drove your purchase myself to your house because you wanted them that day.
When you wanted to swap the headphones a few days later and couldn't come to the city, I drove all the way to your house again.

Just to clear it up, the problem was there was a one-off promotion that another Jaben was doing in a different country and nikp wanted a refund of the difference a month or so after he purchased the items.
We don't usually do these kinds of things so we had to straighten it out with the other store first which did take some time.
In the end we offered him the difference in store credit to make everyone happy and it was all sorted.

I must admit we do tend to reply a bit later since the store opened... It might take a few hours or in rare cases perhaps a day to get an e-mail reply.  We'll try our best to improve!
A phone call however will always be answered ASAP for obvious reasons! You guys can have my personal number as well if you need anything 0450 328 069

We're very grateful for the support from all you guys. For head-fiers we may be able to give a better price/make you a bundle on some items.
Worth a shot anyway, send us an e-mail or give us a call before a purchase =)
