Small USB sound card with line in
Anyone knows if there is a small usb sound card with line in? Direct usb plug without cable would be ideal. M Audio Transit is still a little too big here.- Sugo

Do you listen to your open phones in dead silence?
After enduring a noisy desktop tower for years, I went for a fanless laptop and it's well worth it. My apartment (no bedroom) is very quiet except the annoying fridge. When the fridge not running, listening to music after 10pm is very, very enjoyable- Sugo

271s vs. 580s...showdown!
sleepkyng, could you comment on sound quality and bass quantity/quality with K271 unamped out of the iPod and Powerbook? I read K240s sound good out of portables but people say K271 sounds like crap unamped. I thought they use the same driver, no?- Sugo

50mW per channel at 32ohm load, enough for AKG K271S?
http://extranet.sigmatel.com/library...752-ds-3-2.pdf According to page 13 of this document, the headphone jack on my notebook can output 50mW per channel on 32ohm load. Will this drive AKG K271S? If not, what exactly will it be like? Not enough volume? No bass? I really like the K271S...- Sugo

The eggo effect?
I had my eggo D66 for a year now. I sold ER6 to fund the eggo and I have no regrets. In the beginning I was disappointed that so many people say bad words on them. I don't care anymore. I enjoyed listening to them 2am in my dead silent apartment. Yeah I enjoyed the bass too. The...- Sugo

Cheapest place to buy MX400s?
www.sennheiserusa.com carries new MX500 but oddly only refurbished MX400. Perhaps you can email them to see if they have new MX400. Buy.com has M400 for about $13 but including shipping and handling it will be close to $20. Too bad MX500 comes with a volume control. It looks much better...- Sugo

LP4 and stereo on the same MD..
For 320kbps mp3, a lot of times I have to convert them to WAV before importing into sonicstage (or they will come out silence). I never had problem with any 192kbps or VBR though.- Sugo

LP4 and stereo on the same MD..

Sharp DR7 Help
Analog recording from your SlimX will work. A better way is to find a source with optical (Toslink) output then your DR7 will be able to record digitally. PCDPs such as Panasonic SL-CT790 are equiped with such output jack. Most people would turn off any EQ on the source for recording so that...- Sugo

Goodbye Bass Boost
rblanco10, I never really own any decent headphones so I can only compare eggo to earbuds. I vaguely remember KSC-50 didn't sound very impressive, perhaps due to bad fit. I prefer eggo to any earbuds I've owned: my weird ears don't like Ety ER-6 at all. Two things I like the 4 pole sharpheiser...- Sugo

Goodbye Bass Boost
I love earbuds. I have or used to have sony E262, sony E838, panasonic RP-HV279, sony EX70, sharp stock (OEM MX-400?), etymotic ER-6, and many others. They are small, low profile and very portable. However with an unamped sharp DS8, the bass isn't very strong for a basshead like me. After giving...- Sugo
