50mW per channel at 32ohm load, enough for AKG K271S?

well the 271's are 55ohm and are also hard to drive due to their sensitivity... I would suggest getting a used pimeta from the forum, you wont regret it

Since impedance is "ALMOST" doubled, you are looking at half the power (say 25mW per channel). However, this alone doesn't really tell you the WHOLE picture, but it seems under-powered. Typical home receiver's headphone jack is rated something like 50mW to 320mW for 60 to 120 ohms.

It may be OK for quiet volume setting, but if you try to crank it up, it may sound distorted or harsh, plus bass will not be tight nor powerful. You may want to use a dedicated headamp for this combination.

Will this drive AKG K271S? If not, what exactly will it be like? Not enough volume? No bass?

If it's truely 50mW, yes, it will drive k271s and volume will be more than enough. Usually right out of PC or portable players bass sounds thinner.

When everybody here says "k271s needs an (dedicated) amp", they mean "to sound good". I think you can go ahead and get k271s to use with your PC, then consider buying headphone amp in near future.
