Phonon SMB-01L — Japanese Bio-Cellulose Headphones w/Switchable Back (semi-open/closed-back)
I think the SMB-01Ls are slept on, I prefer them to my MDR-Z1R in almost every aspect except maaaybe soundstage or imaging. I'm really interested in the stainless steel drivers they use in the limited edition version. unfortunately it's 2x the price. Also re: fun factor, I think they are quite...- n00b

Sony Linkbuds S Impressions Thread
EDIT: nevermind, LDAC works now randomly. hi, how were you able to get LDAC on your A55? I seem to only get SBC on my Walkman One A55 and WM1Z. I can select LDAC on my ZX500 with the Sony Headphone app. also, I ordered these and the regular LinkBuds and the LinkBuds are going back. I’m a bud...- n00b

The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!
I understand that, but I've been using this thing for a few weeks now. It works properly on all my other sony DAPs (A55, WM1A both with WalkmanOne, and ZX507 with the same card in question). If it doesn't sort itself out I may just uninstall and reinstall CFW and start troubleshooting there...- n00b

The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!
Unrelated but any idea how to fix the Recent Transfers tab showing my entire library instead of actual recent transfers? I've made sure the clock is set, I've tried adding songs from both SD card directly and through the WM port, and also just tried a manual database rebuild. Using WalkmanOne cfw.- n00b

A/B Comparisons - iems, buds, cans, daps, and more - Tips & Impressions
lol, i came back into the hobby and just picked up apple dongle and dusks. now i have gone full totl sony (wm1a/z, taz, mdr-z1r, ier-z1r, ier-m9) and while it is cool and all. i probably couldve just stuck with dusks, dongle and some $15 DIY earbuds. so i echo your sentiment, its just kinda fun...- n00b

The Official Sony TA-ZH1ES Hi-Res Headphone Amplifier (Live From IFA 2016)
Is the sound quality affected by the type of Walkman I connect to the Tazzie? Since it acts as both the DAC and amp, it shouldn't matter whether I'm using an NW-A55, WM1A, WM1Z etc right?- n00b

The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!
Not loving what I’ve seen of the new Android M2s so I decided to just go for endgame with the 2016-2018 signature series collection while I still can get them brand new. Coming from the 1A and M9, N3. Hopefully you guys don’t see me on this forum for the next 5-6 years 😂- n00b

Earbuds Round-Up
yo not a good look to tease some upgrade in the branded earbuds thread then tell everyone it’s your own potential product you’re selling. is that even allowed here? to get back on topic, i would take the k64 over the x6 at about the same price point too. x6 is actually one of my least used buds- n00b

SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2
It’s not so much about speed for me, but stability. On my ZX507 I’ve had the native walkman app crash during playback, sometimes causing the entire player to restart. I never have problems like that with the Linux based OS. However, the ZX507 is on an older version of Android so maybe crashes...- n00b

SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2
interesting, I think more and more these days i'm less interested in the latest and greatest. i like the 2016-2018 sony signature stuff because they're proven and on their way out, this would be my last chance to grab a 1z probably. i dont love streaming (at least, not the experience on my...- n00b

SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2
Thanks for the advice! Here’s a thought experiment for fun: If both ended up being the same price, would you rather get a brand new 1Z with NPAudio mods or a brand new 1ZM2?- n00b

Earbuds Round-Up
consider yincrow-rw3000. good musical tuning, will definitely have the bass you're looking for. feels fairly balanced and engaging. the titanium shell and MMCX replaceable cable makes it more durable theoretically than the similar TOTL at the $300+ range. chaconne and bell ti/plus are also...- n00b

SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2
Is the $4199 USD confirmed as MSRP for USA? It just seems insanely expensive but it wouldn’t surprise me. I was already performing some olympic level mental gymnastics trying to entertain the possibility of purchasing the 1ZM2 but the sticker shock at $4k+ before taxes is sobering. It might even...- n00b

ah yeah. for some irrational reason i just want to own the shiny gold brick, even though its expensive and i dont really stream and i probably cant hear the difference lol. i have so much life left in my zx507 and wm1a that i dont think i’d love an ‘upgrade’ to the 1am2. i know this is all...- n00b

SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2
Here are some brief impressions of post-burn in 1ZM2 I found on twitter: https://tecstaff.jp/2022-02-17_wm-1zm2_review.html It just seems like the 1ZM2 sounds 'more realistic' but I'm personally wondering which one is tuned best for female vocals and electronic music (like kpop). I have a...- n00b

The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!
Yeah as someone with the WM1A and ZX507, I'm tempted to get the 1ZM2 but it might not make as much sense as just sending in my WM1A for a mod/upgrade when the battery starts to go. My ZX507 occasionally crashes and I rarely stream, and when I do it's not always a stable experience either. It's...- n00b

Earbuds Round-Up
After swapping to a 4.4mm cable to run them balanced and over the ear, the RW-3000 do hit pretty deep actually. But I find it’s easier to just tune/DIY drivers to get the sound signatures I like, rumble included. Hard to get that from factory tuned manufactured buds- n00b
