V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
yea, they are definitely more comfortable now than when i first got them, but the pad depth will always be an issue until new ones are released. i listen to m-100 for 30 min sessions at a time and then theres no problem whatsoever. past 30 min, forget about it- IBeN8

Help me on my quest for the best portable over-ear >$400?
By portable I mean an over-ear with good isolation, very comfortable, and a manageable cord. As far as Sound goes I'm looking for a relatively balanced sound with a slight emphasis on Mids and Bass. I own the v-moda M-100 and i like it a lot, but am looking for something else...- IBeN8

I can't wait for the DD pads either! My ears hurt like hell after 30+ minutes of listening which is really unfortunate 'cause other than the comfort issue M-100 is my favorite portable. I don't even need the pads to be bigger, just deeper. When they compress after 10 minutes or so of being on...- IBeN8

yea, on my M-100 the left earcup is solidly connected to the "v-fork" but the right earcup can move about on the right "v-fork"....hasn't really been a problem so far its just annoying that i can pop the cup in and out of place, but hopefully it doesn't become a problem. so far literally...- IBeN8

hahah you're right. man m-100 goes DEEP....and no, im not just looking for bass, which is why i love M-100. detailed with nice treble extension (without being harsh), but still has massive bass when it is called for...maybe it's only because i haven't heard them in awhile, but from memory M-80...- IBeN8

So i just tried the FiiO E6 with my M-100 and...i don't it....i would never need to listen to a volume over 100% on my ipod and i don't need the bass boost because it has enough bass already plus i find it makes the overall sound less detailed and more like my friends beats pro. i guess i was...- IBeN8

yea i don't really listen to jazz and classical music i'll admit, but i listen to rock from 1940-present, rap/hip hop, electronic, motown, techno, acoustic, folk, ect. and i think m-100 handles it all ranging from pretty well to fantastic. my friend's $400 beats pro don't sound nearly as good...- IBeN8

just finished downloading the entire Beatles discography in 320kbps, sounds so good on my m-100s! I guess i'm in the minority here, but i find M-100 to be pretty damn versatile with genres. But anak and many others disagree i guess....i mean yea, they aren't reference headphones they are...- IBeN8

VAL quick question. just to confirm the "VTF" that I and other head-fi members have will have the same sound as the MP models correct? I think i remember u saying that the sound was "locked" so this PP run is just to work out some possible minor construction/production issues, right? btw I...- IBeN8

has anyone mentioned yet that u don't need the "shareplay" cable to daisy chain music?.....u can just plug your headphone into the other port as long as the cable is compatible...pretty cool- IBeN8

quick comparison to m-80 -much better isolation (obviously) -roughly the same amount of leakage i believe, it's hard to say -mids and highs are slightly more detailed and the highs definitely feel more extended to my ears -OVERALL very similar sound signature as the M-80, but IMO...- IBeN8

My M-100 Review Design/build quality: Feels very study, yet much lighter than i anticipated. Changing shields takes some patience and finesse, but is definitely worth it for that extra customization. Looking at yourself straight in the mirror with M-100 on you will notice that they are...- IBeN8

oh, and i'm not sure why some have described the bass as light. The bass is deeper and has more impact than M-80....soooo ?? IMO it is elevated without being overpowering....now lets see how it sounds after some burn in- IBeN8

just wondering...why are so many people concerned over the bass? IMO the M-80 already had very good bass, better bass quality sounds great, but more quantity? I want an audiophile sound signature with slightly boosted bass for mobile listening, and thats what i'm expecting from M-100, not bone...- IBeN8
