Has anyone else ever gotten swimmer's ear as a result of using IEM?
I had swimmers ear to begin with (too much time spent in filthy outdoor pools as a kid) and it acts up occasionally when I use my customs for extended periods of time (3 hours+). When that happens, I dry my ears out and switch to buds or cans until it stops itching/hurting. To avoid this...- noblsheep

Question for Yuin PK 1/2/3 owners
I currently use pk1's for work, run from a USB soundcard. They're great, able to hear the phone/people talking, low key. Only when the office gets noisy I find myself turning the volume up a bit too much.- noblsheep

I bought a pretty nice amp.
i've only got a meier mk3 to compare it to. basically, the mina is warmer, with a tad less detail and a bit more bass. high and low extention is pretty good. the thing i like most about this amp is its laid back, comfortable sound sig, great for long periods of listening.- noblsheep

Yuin G2: first pics + impressions
Mini review of the Yuin G1 vs. PK1 Ran out of X5L to Porta Corda MKIII I haven’t had the G1 for long and it’s only been run in for about 20+ hours. This is compared to a PK1 with at least 200 hours clocked on it. Comfort. The G1 hangs loosely (for me) off the outer ear and easily falls off...- noblsheep

A Canalphone Conundrum
ok, i have the er4s and the X5L (different only in battery life from the X5). i often run the phones from the hp out and it takes less than half the volume to drive them to enough volume for outdoors listening. on the road, the differences between directly powering and running them through the...- noblsheep

NOT IEM's for bedtime listening
how bout the pk series? pk1 is amped and pk2 not. used to fall asleep with them all the time, they fall out after awhile and are pretty sturdy so you don't have to worry about breaking them if you roll over or anything- noblsheep

Bud's to sleep in?
i sleep with the pk2, the pks are the most comfortable buds to sleep in imo. plus they fall out after awhile if you fall asleep in them, so you don't have to spend a whole night with stuff in your ears.- noblsheep

Head-Fi has ruined my ears...
ruined my ears too (although probly not as much as all you people with systems costing many times mine). now, whenever anybody takes out their mp3 player and says, hey i got a cool song wanna have a listen? i have to fish for my own phones first.- noblsheep

i did the olive oil thing last time i got a plug, only i didn't have any olive oil on hand and used peanut oil. got rid of the plug in no time, and the rest of the wax kinda walked themselves out during the next few days.- noblsheep

Disappointed in stock Sennheiser HD580
i guess it's just a matter of preference here. i used to have the hd600 with cardas and loved them to death, while my roommate prefered every other thing i had (sf5pro, er4s, sr225) over them.- noblsheep

Help with Shure's E4c
i don't think there will be any damage to your hearing, but without the filter stuff like earwax might get into the drivers and clog them up. on that note, i just inspected my er4s and discovered one filter missing....- noblsheep

i used to have the er4p, found them uncomfortable and sold them. after a year or so, decided to try again and got er6i. found them insanely comfortable with triple flanges. had the e4pro. tried all sorts of tips and like olives and triflanges best. e4pro broke, got er4s. comfortable...- noblsheep
