Anyone else drive their AD's straight from their iPhone 5S on-the-go? It sounds pretty good; I find myself taking my e17 with me less and less.- RedSox

Seems like the (normally ~$200) California Headphones Silverado might be a way to go. They're only $50 on Amazon right now. It's tough to find many opinions of these headphones, but I have only read positive things so far, and the sound signature is supposedly fun and v-shaped. Also, I assume...- RedSox

Looking for a portable can (closed, easy to drive) for listening to EDM/dance pop music. So far I love the looks of the Takstar HD 6000, but I'm also liking the Superlux HD-662 and the Takstar HD 5500. Can anyone comment on how any of these three headphones stack up against each other...- RedSox

Thanks for your input. I'm blessed/cursed in that I don't have amazing ears, so I'm always impressed when people can actually hear the differences in gear that I simply can't.- RedSox

I gotta be honest dude. I bought the Asgard 2 to go with my ADs and returned it because I couldn't hear the difference between it and the Magni. It's true the Vali/Lyr may be a different story since they're tube amps, just sharing my experience. Also I would be shocked if there was a...- RedSox

Just a word of warning, don't get the Qinpu A-6000 MKII for this headphone. I already owned and it was hoping to drive my ADs with them and it distorts at a very low volume. I have just ordered an Asgard 2 per Dan's advice. (He recommended I also check out the Project Ember amp) I wanted...- RedSox

Got my ADs in the mail today. While I am very impressed with the sound, I'm finding it distorts at a lower volume than I would like. I'm using a FiiO e17 as a DAC only and a Qinpu A6000 MKII tube amp. Does anyone see an issue with this combination?- RedSox

Westone 3s broken for the third time - Need new customs.
Hello everyone. I know that we don't really need another "Which headphones should I get?" thread, but I've been searching for a few hours now and just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I received Weston 3s with UM56 customs for my birthday two years ago. They sound great, but I've...- RedSox

My Westone 3s have broken for the third time.
I got my first pair about two years ago and I've loved them when they worked. However, some of the drivers on one side inevitably die in my experience. They've been good about replacements but I don't want to have to keep replacing them over and over again. Has anyone else experienced this? Is...- RedSox

Is my Fiio E5 Broken?
Hello everyone. I've had a Fiio E5 for awhile now. I'm using my source to the Fiio E5 to Grado SR80s. However, for some reason, when I plug headphones into the E5 the sound is only mono (only coming out of the left driver(s). If I plug in headphones partially, it's stereo. Do I need a...- RedSox

>$200 Open Headphones W/ Balanced Sound?
Hi, I'm trying to help my friend pick out headphones. He listens to alt rock/electronic like MGMT, The Killers, Passion Pit and some classic rock like Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones. He doesn't care a lot about isolation, and he wants balanced sound. Thanks.- RedSox

Do You Buy Lossy Music?
Do you buy lossy music on iTunes or otherwise? I do, occasionally, because sometimes I'm just in the mood for something and want it instantly. -
Bose Headphone Opinions
I got QC3s as a gift. They're okay I guess, but I'd never spend...what is it, $300? on them. The isolation seemed great for over/on-ear headphones, but if you're looking for isolations go with IEMs. Their marketing department, however, are brilliant.- RedSox

W3 vs SR80 (I know, I know)
Hello everyone! I realize that W3s and SR80s are completely different headphones, and this isn't one of those "which should I buy?" threads. I own both W3s w/ UM56 and SR80s. I put on my SR80s for the first time in a while and was impressed! In some ways I think they sound a little better...- RedSox
