Metallica half speed remasters
Totally agree about the Master of Puppets 180g LP, it really sounds awful. RTL is also really poor quality, really thin sounding. I have the 4 lp set for And Justice For All and it sounds incredible, best version by far (if you can be bothered to change sides after each song that is!!)...- Billybob79

Denon D5000, D7000 comments
Agree 100% with Gradofan2. Stock D5000's & Solo SRG is an awesome combination. Couldn't be happier, and i haven't tried Markl mods yet!!- Billybob79

Denon AH D2000 or Denon AH D5000 ????
I recently bought a pair of stock d5000 and i could not be happier. My current fav cans. They really have that 'wow' factor when you hear them for the first time. So much so my brother heard them once and ordered himself a set!!- Billybob79

Help choosing a good set of closed cans?
Thanks for all your help, it is greatly appreciated. I ended up going for the d5000 more for their sound signature than anything else. And yes they hardly isolate but they do sound great and are so comfortable. Think i will just have to stick to my se530's when trying not to annoy others.- Billybob79

Best Metal Album Productions
Megadeth - Countdown to Extinction and Youthanasia are both well produced metal albums. Probably better staying away from recent remaster versions though.- Billybob79

The Official Grado 325i Owners Club.
The tape mod does make quite a big difference to the bass on 325i's. Sound becomes more closed in also. Suppose its personal preference if you like the sound or not.- Billybob79

I'm sorry, but does anyone else think the HD600s are hideous?
Agree they are ugly cans. The 650's look way better.- Billybob79

Think the best price I have seen the PSU 1 is 159.00. Also just trying my new Denon D5000's while home for lunch. Wow!! They sound incredible, already impressed and thats them straight out of the box. I'll leave them on for a couple of days to burn in but can already tell im going to love them.- Billybob79

Help choosing a good set of closed cans?
The Audio Technica ATH-W5000 are definately appealing but i think they are just a little out of my price range at the moment. Looks like if i go for the Denon's i'll need to convinve my wife to watch TV in the other room. Can't see that conversation going well!! Need to factor a hotel room...- Billybob79

Fantastic, was worried there might be a mismatch between the denon's and the solo. Think i need to buy the PSU 1 ASAP. Can't wait for the 5000's to arrive. Where did you buy the 7000 from in the US if you don't mind my asking. I had a look at them recently but could not find a good site that...- Billybob79

I bought the sr325i's second hand, i've since put maybe 80 hours on them. The solo has a few hundred hours on it (just the intro maybe I need to upgrade to psu1). The solo has amazing sysnergie with my hd650's but i just can't get used to it with the 325i's. I notice you have a couple of...- Billybob79
