I'm sorry, but does anyone else think the HD600s are hideous?

I know looks aren't supposed to matter, but my biggest factor in not buying a pair of HD600s is that they look straight out of the 80's! Maybe if I had some acid-wash jeans and a pink shirt, I could rock 'em, but not as is. Does anyone else think they look dated?

No thanks.

The HD650 on the other hand...

That's because they are. Aren't they both 10+ years in design? I would have thought at least get a new paint job to match what's in style. Piano gloss black wood headband would be posh.

Haven't been impressed wit Sennheiser build they seem a bit plasticky and flimsy.

hd600's were introduced in the late 90's and the hd650's were introduced in 2003.

the hd600's look fine in person.

the faux marble is ugly, but much less noticeable in person.

Agree they are ugly cans. The 650's look way better.

I, too, think they look hideously. The fake marble look is truly horrible! Can't believe any company could come up with such an ugly design. The model itself looks fine, but the texture is just plain ugly. And I actually did see them in person (actually, that was the first time I actually saw them) and still found them to look hideously.

Don't think they are all that bad looking. Their rather 'old school' looks grow on you. Could care less myself as long as they continue to sound great and feel comfortable. Once the music begins, any thoughts of 'looks' evaporate.

Eeeexactly! I find their shape gorgeous, and their flat grills are a killer, so much better looking than the typical bowls that make the listener look like a Ferengi:

Depending on the final reviews I may decide to switch to HD800, but man, are they ugly compared to HD600/650!
Still, if only the HD600 were available in black...
