Sennheiser IE80's Impressions Thread
Hi again, Thanks for the reply.I guess I'm old school,I come from a vinyl background, many years past.I had a LP12 deck, with Naim mono blocks,etc,etc..I love the convenience of computer audio,I certainly don't miss having to line up a tone arm on one particular track, track after track. The main...- Cenacheros

Sennheiser IE80's Impressions Thread
Well I'm sorry to shock you,I was really only meaning to be helpful.I have a pair of Forza recabled 650s,I gave them to my son.I far prefer the IE80s!! The bass doesn't sound loose to me at all,and I really wouldn't want any more sparkle.Let's keep in mind that hearing,as with many things,is...- Cenacheros

I listen to my IE80s through a full-size headphone amp. paired with a Chord 2Qute,as well as fancy cables, dedicated power supplies, and laptop noise purifiers. The sound is nothing less than stunning! I have two pairs of IE80s and will buy another shortly. Why oh why can't Sennheiser fix the cable...- Cenacheros

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
Funny you should mention the Sirius. Before the Elear appeared, that was the IEM I was set on getting.I live in Spain, very hot summers! A decent IEM has a lot of comfort advantages over a full-size can.I'll be very interested in reading your impressions and comparisons. Cheers!- Cenacheros

Thanks! Does anyone have any ideas about copper cable vs copper/silver with the Elears? Early days yet I'm sure! Cable length is the main reason for a replacement,I only need 1.5 metre.- Cenacheros

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
Is this cable pure copper or a copper/silver blend? I looked on their site but just got confused! I have recabled 650s which are great, but, someone described them as sounding "too polite",which I think is true. The Elear by all reports is big step up from the 650 whilst retaining the body and...- Cenacheros

The ie80s certainly need burn in."Harsh and rough" are not what I'm hearing.I've had two cable failures, plastic sheath splitting ta the connectors.I bought an ie8 non-microphone cable, way better!!- Cenacheros

I've always read reports of "rolled off treble",which suits me fine,I'm sensitive to treble. My perception of the 846's with the blue filters, and more so the black, was of a full and dynamic delivery with a...- Cenacheros

I used a Dragonfly v2 and a portable amp. with the 650s for some time, the combo worked really well.I've since changed to a Chord 2Qute and a NJC Monitor2 amp along with all sorts of fancy cables from Forza. It's often said that the 650's scale really well,it's absolutely true!!- Cenacheros

New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
Would the new T1v2 be a step up from Senn.650s now that they're warmer and less bright? I would like to retain the warmth and fullness of the 650s but with added detail.I have the most recent 650,using a 2Qute and a very good amplifier.Thanks!- Cenacheros
