First impressions of the Elear with the Norne Zoetic cable.

Keeps the dynamic impact but smooths out the sound

Slightly larger soundstage

Cleaner bass

Less zing in the treble

Overall I'm super happy with the sound. I'm new to this site and descriptions of what I'm hearing so hope this makes sense.

Hi :)

How good is the elear? Tyll on innerfidelity called it an game changer.I have ovned the hd800s,philips fidelio x2,audio technica ath msr 7. Now i currently own shure se846 and beyerdynamic t5p 2 gen.Is the elear much much better then these headphones,or is it just pros and cons like all headphones and marginal better? I have found out that i could maybe invest in and open back headphone, since the t5p dont isolate that well. Its completly useless on the road ( just tried in an car).So i use the shure se846 on the go and somethimes borrow my daughters bose quiet comfort 35.But at home i could just go for an open back.I like to hear all kind of music. But mostly rock and electronica :) Ilike an sound that have good bass and a little warmth.Anyone compared t5p 2 gen against the elear?

Is this cable pure copper or a copper/silver blend? I looked on their site but just got confused! I have recabled 650s which are great, but, someone described them as sounding "too polite",which I think is true. The Elear by all reports is big step up from the 650 whilst retaining the body and warmth of the 650.I plan to buy another Forza Audioworks Noir cable for the Elear,copper/silver seemed
the way to go.Your observations of the improved tone the Norne brings makes me wonder. Thanks!

From their website, the cable specs are: 13.1ft (4m) OFC shielded extremely low impedance (<90 mΩ) cable

I believe it is pure copper.

I am using a WireWorld Nano Platinum Eclipse cable that is OCC Silver with great results. The bass is fast and tight and the highs are crisper and detailed without being fatiguing. Theosundstage got bigger and more holographic. I think the Silver cable brings it closer to the Utopia kind of sound.

How hard are the Elear's to drive? I'm thinking of getting the Sony PHA3 which has 320mw per channel.

I'm happy to see you're loving the cans! Thx for using The Source AV! I'm not sure if the sound your describing is from the geometry or the silver content but the WireWorld on the Elear did produce very sweet detail in single ended but in balanced it was worth every penny they cost.

Just ordered (on back-order) from Crutchfield. That 60-day money back guarantee should provide ample time to put these up against my PM-2 and Sirius.
