I have two pairs of the same earphone....But they sound different?
It's pretty common I guess. I've seen relatively decent reviews on the Brainwavz S0. But the pair I got sounds no where near what was described. I'd venture to say it's the worse sounding phones I've ever heard(yes, worse than stock buds from any device).- gradesm

VSonic VSD5 Impressions Thread. VSonic's answer to Sony's EX1000???
I don't find the mids recessed at all. To me, their mids are the main selling point. Easily 1 of the best mids I've heard in this price range in terms of body and presence.- gradesm

VSonic VSD5 Impressions Thread. VSonic's answer to Sony's EX1000???
Agree with you. The quality of the bass and treble are great. I just wish quantity was a little less. The treble only gets harsh on wide bore tips I've tried. On stock tips the treble wasn't near what I'd consider sibilant.- gradesm

VSonic VSD5 Impressions Thread. VSonic's answer to Sony's EX1000???
Wow... I didn't even think of rolling tips yet. lol.. The stock ones worked well for me. Realized they were the normal vsonic narrow nozzle ones. I am trying the wide bore stock tips from my sunrise xcapes now. The bass is finally not bloated and perfect for my taste. Will start rolling other...- gradesm

VSonic VSD5 Impressions Thread. VSonic's answer to Sony's EX1000???
Hmm... I'm hoping burn in helps, for now, bass seems a bit untamed. It's bloaty and unrefined for now, some sibilance as per typical vsonic, a little worse than the vsd3. The mids are beautifully lush though. Update: Bass seems to have tamed quite abit.. still bloated to my ears. For a short...- gradesm

VSonic VSD5 Impressions Thread. VSonic's answer to Sony's EX1000???
Can't wait to get it later. I agree with you on the b3 pro 1s. Though many have said it's very well balanced, i found the mids a tad recessed. After bumping the 6.8k to 7k region up ard 1.5db, it sounds near perfect to me.- gradesm

I agree, perhaps he got a lemon. My experience with VSD3s were vastly opposite to how he described them. Bass quantity was a tad bit too much for my taste in fact.- gradesm

Got to agree with u on the astrotec. It was pretty bad, though for those less than 5% of songs they were good with, they actually sound awesome. Too bad the other 95% was unbearable at least to me.- gradesm

Well, put things in perspective. If you had pulled the trigger, you'd probably end up with both the B3 and B6 eventually. So you at least minimized the damage to your wallet.- gradesm

Just a heads up guys. Linus from Linus tech tips did a video on their senn factory tour, showing the production of the HD800. It's a pretty interesting watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5es8zggYM7A Note, the vid is abt 20 mins long.- gradesm

Jazz and Classical on a budget.
The Xcapes are pretty good all rounders and do most genres well but if you will be listening to classical only, you should at least give the PR-401 a listen. They sound fantastic to me when it comes to classical and jazz, just make sure you use them with sony hybrids be it real or fake. They...- gradesm

SW-Xcape version 2 updated impressions
Still burning mine in so will not comment on the sound. I do hate the L/R indicators though. They are miniscule, plus being the same color as the background makes them impossible to tell apart without proper lighting and probably some squinting even then. Don't really like the I plug as well but...- gradesm

Sony Hybrids- Overrated?
I don't find the Sony's to be the most comfortable but they certainly are one of the best in terms of the ease of getting a good seal on most guys. The only tip I prefer over them are those that came with the sunrise Xcapes. They are amazing. The same ease of getting a good seal and yet alot...- gradesm

Doesn't anyone else care about the shape of the plug?
I hate I plugs as well.. Though it is not a complete deal breaker for me. Personally looking at sub 100 earphones as well. Currently narrowed my choices down to the SW Xscape which is an i plug, and the PR401. Even though I don't have the habit of wrapping my phones ard my player, I...- gradesm

Audio Technica ATH-CKM50 VS Sennheiser CX500
I personally feel in terms of SQ they are about the same, just with different sound signatures. My preference would be the ckm50 but here in SG they cost about half the price of the CX500. Considering the prices you quoted, the ckm50 wouldn't be that good in terms of value.- gradesm

My gal isn't interested at all about my speakers or headphones. Though I must say she can always pin point the problems out really quick. Makes all my purchase feel like a very bad mistake.
