Superbowl XLV - Who's getting ready?
Go Pack! Buddy of mine just got a new big screen HD tv and sound system so a bunch of us are heading over there. Should be loads of fun. Here's a great article from espn that shows how even both teams are. It's pretty cool. ...- Cooter

Best headphones for under $100? Sennheiser HD 280?
Quote: B&H Photo sells them for $109 but they're sold out ATM. Might shoot them an email to find out when they're expecting more. (unless you need them immediately) There's a pair listed in the classifieds right now, too. Surprised they've lasted this long.- Cooter

Headphones for REAL bass!
+1 on the XB500's. I bought some for my daughter for XMas and they blow me away. Definitely going to get some for myself, too. There are reviews around here from folks who have done 500 vs 700 comparisons. Search around a bit and I'm sure you'll find them. And maybe someone who has...- Cooter

IEMs bassier than ATH-M50 or Sony MDR-XB500 under $150?
Great thread for me as it's following my preferences pretty closely. I've come to the conclusion that I'm not a super critical listener and bang-for-the-buck is a big priority for me. I love a full, fun sound that brings out the energy of my music and bass is typically the part that seems...- Cooter

Best Solo Guitarists
Any other fans of Monte Montgomery around here? He plays similar to Vai/Satch/etc... but he does it on an acoustic guitar. His live shows blow his studio cd stuff completely out of the water. Here's a clip of him playing Hendrix's 'Little Wing' and there are several more songs on youtube as... -
The Tragically Hip concert in Vancouver, July 12
I saw them in Madison, WI, about a month ago. They played an old theatre that holds a couple thousand people and it wasn't full. The show rocked. Friend that went with me got their dvd of a live show a couple years ago. Very cool.- Cooter

Which Guitar Offer would you take?
Jahn-If you're still thinking of replacing the pickups check out GFS pickups from GuitarFetish. They make some cool humbucker-size Retrotrons and P90s. And don't be scared off by the low prices. Check out the online reviews. Friend of mine has a Dream 90 in an old Harmony and it sounds great...- Cooter

where to find stock replacement tips for jvc marshmallow fx33 IEM's?
Yes, the E2 foamies are the ones to get. All you have to do is pull the gray tube off the soundpost and they'll slide right on. The gray tube can be pretty snug but it'll come off. Huge sound and comfort improvement over the stock foams, IMHO.- Cooter

Friend Suspended - What's Your Take
Does anyone else see the sad irony in this situation? Schools have to be ultra-conservative in anything that can be perceived as a threat in order to cover their backsides from possible lawsuits. So now a student gets punished for a minor infraction, gets upset about the penalty and brings...- Cooter

MARSHMALLOW or Creative EP-630
There is a very simple (and free) mod to increase detail/treble on Marshmallows. Search this forum for 'Kramer mod' and you should find it. It helps a lot. Time for a couple more. First, I got the mods finished on my new bass. I think it turned out pretty good. I'm still tweaking the action a bit but I'm liking it so far. Next is my old Univox Lectra (Beatle) bass from the 60's. It's a Japanese copy of the Hofner that Paul McCartney...- Cooter
