Recommendations for closed headphones under 200 bucks
Either of these would be good: http://www.amazon.com/Shure-SRH840-Professional-Monitoring-Earphones/dp/B002DP8IEK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1286890543&sr=8-1 ...- kschles

Looking for best closed cans around $250
Just to make your life more complicated, I'd suggest the Ultrasone DJ1. Closed, very easy to drive from an Ipod. I got one recently and am very impressed. Here's a review from an Australian website I like (don't worry about the quoted price, which is in Australian dollars): ...- kschles

DT880 32 ohm vs 250 hm
I've had my DT880, 32 ohm, for about a week now. I use an Ipod touch and the sound is gorgeous (only have about 40 hours burn-in). Seems to have plenty of power. Never had an amp, so can't speak to the difference you might hear using one.- kschles

HD25 discomfort. How to counter the clamp?
Unfortunately, the clamping is the price you pay for fairly good isolation (for a non-iem).- kschles

Looking for Ear Buds, better than Ipod stand issue.
I Have the Yuin PK2's and love them, but, while balanced nicely, they don't have overhwelming bass. Another earbud option is the V-moda Class M Remix. They have a nice bass extension without rolling off the highs too much. I prefer the V-Modas when I'm listening to rock, and the Yuins for just...- kschles

What to buy - AD700 or ES7
I've got both the AD700 and the ES7. I like both, and find them both very comfortable. For an office setting I'd recommend the ES7. The AD700 leaks quite a bit and, depending on your office, could be a problem. Although the ES7 is technically a closed headphone - there is not a lot of isolation...- kschles

Best Noise-Cancelling Headphones?
I voted for the ATH-ANC7, which may not be quite fair, since they are the only ones I have heard. Since I've got more money than brains (and not that much of either), decided recently to try these. Had never considered active noise cancelling headphones before. They've now become my main...- kschles

portable headphones vs earphones?
You'll be fine with the PX100 or KSC75. Both are highly regarded, especially for the price. Haven't heard the JBL, so can't comment on that one.- kschles

Sennheiser HD595's: How portable are they?
I'd vote no on the 595 portability: 1/4" plug is an issue (needs an adaptor or replacement) Long cord can be an issue plush pads - though comfortable, not great if you're walking around in the heat and start to perspire. HD-25 is ideal if you can get them (size, cord, sound and...- kschles

Etymotic ER-6i :D
Looking forward to your comparison. I have the Ety ER6i, and used to have the supfer.fi 5. Didn't like the Super.fi's - especially the fit. The Etys should be a completely different sound for you - very detailed upper level, and adeuate, but not overwhelming bass - might take a while to get used to.- kschles

[Review w/pics]: Ultrasone Proline 750
Just to add a bit to the ultrasone burn-in question. I've had a pair of HFI-700 headphones for quite some time. When I first got them, I burned them in for about 48 hours before listening to music. I wasn't impressed. The vocals all seemed recessed and out of balance. I kept them, however...- kschles

Akg k27 i?
I've tried the AKG 27i and absolutely hated them. Bloated bass and muddy highs. On the plus side, they do seem to isolate fairly well for such a little, portable headphone.- kschles
