Jan Meier (and Meier Audio), Thank You!

Another thank you from me. Still rocking the 770s you sold me.

    true adudiophile card?

Another vote for the Echo range. I've had both the original and later versions of the Gina - mostly for music production, but the sound is great. Loved them both. Simple and do the business.

    Whats better DT770 or DT770Pro/80

The general consensus isn't always backed up by actual experience, however. Many people have found the new model to have a slightly weightier mid-range, which is no bad thing. Also, the heavier clamping on the "pro" model may be less comfortable for long listening sessions. The consumer Beyers...

    I think I have tinnitus...

I have had tinnitus continually for about 15 years, as a result of one too many loud concerts. Mostly it's fine - it sounds like distant cicadas. It's worst at night when there are fewer other sounds around. I'm comforted by the fact that it doesn't seem to have affected my high-frequency...

How is the 32ohm and 250ohm DT770 different?

Apparently not. However, if they're not being driven decently (say by a portable source) then you may notice a difference. I have the 32 ohm variety by the way. They're sweet (especially after a looong burn-in).

    Binaural DVD soundtrack

The movie is a highly regarded classic of Aussie cinema. And this isn't just some gimmick for the DVD - the sound was actually recorded binaurally in the first place using mics taped to the actor's head. Which would explain the odd sound on the Australian DVD - sounds move in and out of the...

    Binaural DVD soundtrack

I think this may be a first ... the classic Australian black comedy Bad Boy Bubby has just been released on DVD in the UK by top-drawer arthouse merchants Eureka and contains what is described in the Guardian as "a strange, binaural headphone audio option which attempts to place the viewer...

    Ultrasone Proline 750 or DT770/32 or A900?

Let me put in a word for the 770/32. Contrary to some opinions expressed here, these cans do not require an amp or take a lot of current to drive. I wonder how many of these opinion leaders have actually tried these cans. In terms of sheer volume, I run mine at a decent volume out of a Gina 3G...

    DT880 software emulation?

Hi, I'm really curious to hear the new DT880. Of course, here in darkest Swansea there is nowhere to go to audition such a beast. I do own the 2005 DT770 however, and wonder, since the drivers are related, whether it's possible to use EQ to get a near-enough emulation of the 880 sound...

    Beyerdynamic DT770 / 80 Ohms vs DT770 / 32 Ohms

Nobody can gainsay Skylab with his huge experience of DT-model cans, but for an alternative view, here's what Headroom have to say about the new DT770 (250 ohm version): The recessed mid-ranges of yore have also been nicely beefed-up and are now significantly better-detailed to our ears than...
