ES7's cut outside noise extremely well...I use them not only for music but also to ignore other people. I see their mouths moving but hear nothing...it's great.

Isolation is very good but not perfect. At normal to slightly loud listening you shouldn't disturb anyone nearby. I sould say that if those around you can hear your music you might just be listening at too high of a volume level. I really enjoy the ES7 for the price.

I just did the full F5005 mod and after 24 hours I am very satisfied with the results. I agree with the general reaction that the inherent qualities of the W5000 remain but with better overall tonal balance. I would have to say that the differences make theses headphones much better for all...

I won't vote since I haven't experienced any of the cans listed. It sounds like there is more support for headphones not listed than there is for the ones that are listed to choose from.

I am planning to buy a dual-format player early next year and therefore don't care what happens. I want the technology soon and it's unlikely that a clear winner will emerge in the near future.
