Magnesium lowered my tinnitus. :)
Bumping this since my tinnitus is getting worse, found this and checked the trial results. Unfortunately there is no statistical analysis but looking at the pre-treatment and post-treatment survey scores for the three tests, magnesium vs. placebo, it appears that magnesium didn't do much to...- tmann

Chromecast audio - can anyone comment on sound quality?
Does anyone know what bitrate the paid Pandora stream is on CCA? From the web: "Pandora on the Web plays 64k AAC+ for free listeners and 192kbps for Pandora One subscribers. All in-home devices play 128kbps audio, and mobile devices receive a variety of different rates depending on the...- tmann

This teardown has it listed as 32031 TI 68k CQ61, for whatever that's worth. http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/news/teardown-tuesday-amazon-echo-dot-v2/- tmann

Chromecast audio - can anyone comment on sound quality?
Bump. Has anyone compared the Dot and CCA for sound quality into a stereo system? Edit, found one guy on AVS who compared them and finds the CCA much better. (Would still be interested in another opinion.) http://www.avsforum.com/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=48494913 "I fell in...- tmann

Chromecast audio - can anyone comment on sound quality?
Can you (or anyone) comment on the Spotify sound quality between the Dot and the Chromecast Audio when hooked up to a stereo system? (I know that the Dot is analog only and I don't have an external DAC anyway so I am interested in the sound of each of them connected directly to a stereo...- tmann

Chromecast audio - can anyone comment on sound quality?
I tried Pandora with the CCA the other day and wondered why it didn't sound that great, and learned that from a phone the max quality is 64kbps, even with the paid version. However, on a computer the paid version is 190kbps. I found this as a...- tmann

Chromecast audio - can anyone comment on sound quality?
How are you casting? If you are you doing it from within a supported app (Spotify, Pandora, Google Play, etc.) you should be getting good sound from optical out, or from analog with High Dynamic Range enabled (it comes with that turned off) since in this case the stream is coming from the...- tmann

EQ or volume app that I can set to work on Spotify or media only?
Does anyone know of an equalizer or volume app that I could set to work only on certain apps (like Spotify)? I often want to listen to music at volumes lower than the lowest stock phone volume, but I don't want to affect the rest of the phone (speaker/earpiece volume, alarms, etc.) The stock...- tmann

In case someone reads this: You can loop the cord around your ear to eliminate the microphonics. You just switch left and right to get the intended fit. Works great. Great 'phones.- tmann

Android: Neutron Music Player
This happened again. FYI in case anyone else ends up with this issue, it turns out that if you touch the cover art area in the main player now playing screen, the controls disappear leaving only the cover art, and after a few seconds a very faint icon appears in the top right corner that...- tmann

Android: Neutron Music Player
Its like john candy in Planes Trains and Autos with the electric seat adjustments. Is there a simple way to play all tracks on random? You can put the Music folder in its own playlist but then you have to redo it each time you add music, which I do frequently.- tmann

How can it be changed? Can't find it. Also I tried player pro and the compilation is not configured correctly in the Folders section on there either. That one also appears to be using tags on the songs. They worked fine on the clip zip.- tmann

What to buy since Cowon is not doing so well
What about a Clip Zip for around $30 and a 64 GB micro SD card (on sale now for $35, convert to FAT32)? Not touch screen but easy to navigate, and Rockboxable. I like buttons a lot more than touchscreens personally.- tmann

anyone tried audio technica in ear phones?
I can't believe I missed the $69 sale. I even emailed them about stock and they said they had 'enough left', and then I go to buy yesterday and they're 'out of stock'. I don't feel confident about them getting more in either, so now I may just go with one of those OEM CX-300/EP630...- tmann

Cell phones as MP3 players (how bad are they?)
so I briefly compared the phone to my D777 last night. The D777 certainly has more bass and a somewhat 'fuller' sound, but the MM-9000 did not sound awful in comparison. less bass and slight sibilance, but not awful by any stretch.- tmann

Cell phones as MP3 players (how bad are they?)
It has a dedicated headphone jack (as I mentioned regarding the adapter) and the sound really is not bad (and I'm not one of those people who are coming from using stock headphones - I have a D777, Grado 60s and KSC-75s and have a pretty low tolerance for 'crappy', sibilant, poor sound in...- tmann

Am I the only one the Grado Y just never sits right for ?
I used those as portables for a while and one lead came loose at the Y (I need to send them back one of these days). Yes it is annoying. now that I look back I can't believe I used those as portables all that time, considering how big and open they are. Went from those to PX-200s and now I...- tmann

Cell phones as MP3 players (how bad are they?)
So I did get the Sanyo MM-9000. I got 2.5/3.5 mm adapter and with KSC-75s the sound is surpisingly not bad! completely listenable! now I'm even more curious how this thing would compare to a dedicated MP3 player. without a side-by-side comparison, I have to say that I am not in any hurry to get...- tmann

Pics of someone wearing Pana HJE-70? (can't find any)
thanks. I think I'll probably go with the A-Ts (price and design). I listen to rock so I hope they aren't totally bass-anemic, but I don't think they would get all the raves if they were. how are the HJE70's with microphonics? Do the A-Ts stay in your ears if you wear them the 'regular'...- tmann
