    Jaybird Sportsband 2 Review

Quote:   I agree with your assessment.  I find the Sportsband to be tolerable sonically.  The only headphones that I have that are around the same price are the Koss Portapro's.  In a head-to-head I'd say the Portapro's are way better.  Not really a contest.  I don't even find the...

HeadAmp Pico Portable Amp (w/ optional upsampling 24/96 USB DAC) Pre-Order Thread

Quote:   I just visited the HeadAmp website and there is an area to pay using "Google Checkout" or "PayPal".  What is the preferred method of ordering a Pico?  Do I post here, or do I place an order on the Headamp website?

    Shure Questions

I also like the PTH device. I wouldn't consider using it in a portable setting (i.e. jogging, walking around, etc.) because it does add bulk, but in an office setting I quite like it. With my old IEMs I used to have to pull them out whenever anyone came into my office, but now that I have the...

    Shure SE530

As far as IEMs are concerned, the bass you get from the 530 is exceptional. I didn't personally notice any "burn-in" effect... they just sounded great from the first listen. I'm surprised that after a day of experimenting with tips that you haven't been able to get some semblance of...

    Shure SCL5 vs SE530

Hey everyone... it's been a long time since I've posted. Firstly, please don't flame me for asking this question... I just spent the last ten minutes doing searches to see if this has been discussed. So far I haven't found anything to answer my questions. Here's my situation: My E500 wires...

    Pulling the Trigger on E500s

I've got a pair of 650s as well. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the e500. A question that must be asked first is: “Have you ever used an IEM before?” And if you haven't perhaps you should try one out before you jump into the deep end on the first try. Some people just can't get over...

I'd like to add myself to the list of people who thought it was a fair review. When I first read it, my immediate reaction was... relief. I was expecting some ignorant, mis-informed diatribe from someone completely ill-equipped to provide a valid opinion on headphones. But to my surprise, the...

    Ultimate Earbud

I've only owned about five pairs of ear buds, but the best of the bunch were the Sony 888. They are pretty fragile, but I've managed to keep them in working order. Opinions on the 888 are pretty polar; for me, they sounded great.

shure e500 case(how do I fit everything in it?)

This thread makes me feel a little better I also only put the headphones and extension cable in the case. What was making me feel a little insecure about my dexterity was the fact the case is fairly large and all the reviews I read where they mention that everything fits inside the case...

Shure E500 PTH Not bad...I like it!

I have to agree with you... I really like the PTH. It looks like we're the only two people that actually think it's useful. I work in a very annoying office, and not having to pull my iem's out every time someone wants to ask me a stupid question is quite nice. The only problem is that I think...

I did something bad (regarding speakers)

A well setup, high-end stereo is really something to behold. Even though many of us can't afford the high-end price tags, I think all music/stereo/headphone enthusiasts owe it to themselves to see what all the fuss is about. Head over to a reputable, high end shop with some of your favorite CD's...

Are Shure e500s overkill for an unamped iPod or Nano?

I get excellent sound from my flash based IRiver DAP. And yes, they do benefit significantly from being amped (... using a Total Bithead for my portable rig).

    E500 vs Etymotic ER6i vs Shure E3C

I still own a pair of e3c's. You will find that the e500 is in a completely different league (IMO). For me, I can't even listen to the e3 any more. My immediate impression of the e500, as soon as I powered them up, is that they present a far richer more balanced sound. The e500 cost a lot more...
