Yup, mine gets really hot too. But definitely not worried about it, seems pretty normal.

I actually like the cable a lot, but I might try and change my color now. I originally wanted gold but I think the cable will clash too much for that to work.

  Yeah, this must be what it was. I'm sure he'd heard the gist of the sound, but when he heard the dynamics and everything else going on in the song at the same time it probably brought it to a new level.

I put on my friend's favorite song, Ramble On by Led Zeppelin, on my Grado's.  As soon as the song started he said to me "No, this isn't it..." I'm like, what do you mean this isn't it? This is Led Zeppelin II, of course this is it! Then his face morphed from a puzzled look to more of a grin...

I know I just came in here to get the Led out, but here's my second favorite band: Pink Floyd – Fearless - 2011 - Remaster   Not my favorite Floyd song, but the amount of depth in this song is insane, and the Grados do an excellent job to compliment it.

You think they would let me try out some of their headphones if I stopped by? I could see myself taking a day trip if I got to listen to every Grado there is.

Man, I am falling in love with Led Zeppelin all over again. Songs I used to think I didn't like now sound awesome! These guys are absolutely insane.

Local shop didn't have any PS500's, looks like I'm gonna need to head into the city if I want to a try a pair of these out. 

  I intend to, the Schiit Modi + Vali won't be too hard to just throw in my backpack. I'm just trying to find a day where I can actually spend a fair deal of time in the shop. Unfortunately with school, my options are pretty limited. 

I really want to listen to the RS1i, RS2i, and PS500, we'll see which of those they actually have in the shop.

Fooey, local hi-fi shop is closed Monday and Tuesday, now I have to wait until Thursday before I can go and audition some of the higher-end Grados :(

  Yeah this is true, should have added something like "...do you actually listen to" at the end, I have a bunch of cheap pairs of earbuds I could dig up but that doesn't mean I use them,   Thanks for the replies everyone, you're saying just about what I thought.

Just something I've been thinking about, why do some of you guys have more than a few sets of headphones? For me, I can see having 3 or 4, since I have Grados for music/rock, DT770s for movies and gaming, and I have some Aurisonics Rockets IEMs on the way for on-the-go listening.  But when you...

Confirmed, ringing is no different from the 600ohm DT880s I had to the 32ohm Grados I have now. Maybe a little bit louder on the lower impedance, but it's miniscule.

I haven't heard any of them, yet, only the SR225i that I have and really like. Thinking about taking a trip down to a local hi-fi store that carries Grados though and seeing if I can do some auditions.

Either the RS1i or PS500, really liking that Grado sound!

DT 770 seems like the obvious choice.

These are good times :D Spring couldn't have gotten here faster, it's been a rough winter here in the Northeast.

Something I like to do now that my Grados work with my phone is go find a nice flat piece of road and just push around on my longboard. Crusing with music has always been fun for me, but when the music sounds THAT GOOD, it's a whole nother thing. I could skate for hours.

Thanks! The soldering definitely takes some practice,plus you NEED a pair of "helping hands". I wouldn't be able to do anything without them.
