From my personal experience, #1 is immediately debunked by comparing RS1x and RS2x. Also my beautiful Hemp seems to be an outlier within the Grado family.- SkyZippr

New Beyerdynamic Pro X line: DT 700 Pro X and DT 900 Pro X
The one on the left. The "Y" is the latest Beyer logo. But I don't think there's any difference in terms of sound.- SkyZippr

The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)
gug42, I demoed both of them a long time ago, and used to own DT1770pro for a short period, and I fully agree with you. DT1770pro is definitely more revealing than DT700proX, and they also go deeper into the sub-bass region. Interlude by Yosi Horikawa is a totally different experience when heard...- SkyZippr

Thank you all for the replies. Unfortunately, LSA HP-2, T5p, and Sonorous are all too heavy for my fragile neck. I'm sorry should've mentioned that, as I was hoping to find something under 300 grams. So I'm changing my question, is there any lightweight closed-back that you guys enjoy as a...- SkyZippr

I guess the problem is I don't know much about sound quality. In fact, I don't think I even hear much difference with the Hemps plugged into DX3pro+ or straight to the PC. Of course, the PC phone jack has more noise, so the sound from DX3pro+ is much cleaner, but I don't think I'm detecting...- SkyZippr

So I have a really noob question. I'm using my Hemps with Topping DX3pro+. I have no complaint in terms of power as the volume knob is at -45dB-ish with low gain for the Hemps. Also, all my music files have replaygain on them so that's like additional -6~-12dB on top. My question is, when the...- SkyZippr

Apparently The Hemp is sold out here in Japan and not coming back. Not sure if this means anything for the rest of the world, but just a heads-up.- SkyZippr

Thx for the clarification! My Hemp typically sits at -42dB and HE560 at -20dB, so there's more than enough room for extra boom-boom :)- SkyZippr

I'm really not the kind of guy who can hear the difference between different DAC or amp. All I was looking for was something to get rid of the noise from phone jack on my old PC, and something to properly drive my HE560 and DT1770pro. And DX3pro+ was the cheapest option that I could find that...- SkyZippr

My initial impression with G Pads on Hemps was exactly the same with you. However, after a quite extensive re-adjustments with the headband I managed to bring back the midrange and bass mostly. It's NOT exactly the same with the F Pads, so there's still a bit of compromise. The key is that you...- SkyZippr
