post your grado mods....
I picked up a SR80e recently and wanted to improve the bass impact and warmth a bit, so I went with taped L cushions plus the venting mod (four holes poked for a total of six) and wow! I think four might be one hole too many, the upper bass can overshadow things a bit in some songs but overall I...- complex

What power cords do you like for your high-end headphone amp?
I bought some short ones from Monoprice for a couple bucks to help clean up the mess behind my rack/desk a bit. They sound great, like any other power cord.- complex

Quote: I am planning on getting some bookshelf speakers to use with it, but I don't know much about the speaker world. Any recommendations? I don't need anything super powerful as they'll be flanking the monitor on my desk, so I'll only be sitting ~2 feet away. My budget is probably up to...- complex

Shure SRH 940 impression and support thread
Quote: I actually haven't listened to the 940 in like a week. I've been listening to my new Sony V6 and my neglected Beyer DT 250. I might get around to writing more about them eventually but don't hold your breath. I am a terrible reviewer.- complex

Quote: I'd say you'd really like the 940 then. I think the 940's bass extension is still very good, it's just not quite as "heavy" as the 840.- complex

Shure SRH 940 impression and support thread
So I got my 840 back from Shure (actually a brand new one). Initial thoughts: Compared to the 940, the 840 sounds dark and syrupy. The improved clarity of the 940 is really nice, but the bass is a bit less imapctful and I miss that. Soundstage with the 940 might be slightly...- complex

Shure SRH 940 impression and support thread
I'm awful at describing sound and I only listened to them for an hour or so before I left work but they sound quite good. As people have said, the highs do seem to be more emphasized than the 840. Plus, they're definitely more comfortable. I want to compare them directly to the 840 but...- complex

Sennheiser HD800 Appreciation Thread
Quote: This is nice to hear since I have a WA5 on the way (replacing the WA2 I have now). I would also recommend a good hardware EQ for anyone who wants more bass impact out of the HD 800. They are absolutely capable of deep, powerful bass (while still being extremely accurate). I...- complex
