HD600, 650, K701 or AH-D2000's?
Lots of food for thought, thanks for the replies everyone, I appreciate it. I don't know if anyone has any specific experience with my amplifier: Marantz Europe because I'm wondering how good the headphone out truly is. I have to be honest, I'm more a speaker kind of guy but during late night...- 2ndbest

HD600, 650, K701 or AH-D2000's?
The topic title gives it away, I want to buy either of those headphones. Initially I was looking at the AH-D2000's, but availability might be a problem here in the Netherlands. I scrolled through quite a few threads the past days and realised there are more headphones out there than the...- 2ndbest

Where to buy Denon AD-H2000's in Europe (The Netherlands)
Hey to everyone's that's reading: I recently sold my Grado's. I don't do a lot of computer listening anymore, I now almost excluslively listen to music from my speaker rig. I do listen to music a lot, at night and could use with some closed headphones that are comfy. What sprung to mind: the...- 2ndbest

Do you hear the difference? A test
Listening to it on my crappy computer speakers (they costed a magnificent 5 euro's per pair) I could tell the difference.- 2ndbest

Bought a Pioneer PD91 for $15
Man, that it is a great find. You got yourself a real bargain, repair it and I'm sure you will enjoy it for many more years to come, or you could sell it and make a handsome profit.- 2ndbest

Considering buying a receiver <$500
The current Onkyo range is extraordinary. The TX-SR605 is withing your budget and features HDMI switching (also sound via hdmi) and has hdmi 1.3 inputs. It also features DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD decoders. Apart from the fact that it's very well specced it sounds fantastic. Mind you, it's being...- 2ndbest

Can a quality CDP be obtained in the $300 price range?
Marantz CD17 is a great player for around that price. I don't know the going rates on American sites, but here in the Netherlands 275-350 seems to be usual going rate. You'd be lucky to find a KI version or even Mk2 version for that price, but you can always try. I replaced my CD5000...- 2ndbest

Please, recommend me a new portable audio player.
Hey all. I've been out the loop for a while, and I've been wondering if there are any new decent portable audio sources, than can replace my ageing Zen Vision M. The Zen Vision isn't working flawless anymore, it's been dropped on it's head a few times too many and it shows. Synching with the...- 2ndbest

Budget CD player
Try to stretch the budget a little and audition the Marantz CD6002. It's far superior to the CD5001, both in sq-wise and build quality. You could always to haggle on the price a little, the dealer should be (and is) able to drop the price a little.- 2ndbest

PX100 or HD25 or HD280 or Grado etc etc
I use my HD 25-1's all most exclusively out and about, and they are perfect for my requirements; a sturdy headphone thats both portable and sounds good to boot. I love it's sound, and it's extremely easy to drive from any source, and whenever I don't use it, I just move the earcups upwards...- 2ndbest

Does your gear sound better on some day's??
Right now, I'm hearing stuff I never heard before listening to my HD25-1 hooked up to my computer. It's odd, because my ears are quite tired. I work in at appliance store selling audio-video stuff, and I've been around loud music all day. :|- 2ndbest

Coming soon: Comparison of $99-$150 sealed headphones
Skylab, did the headphile cable improve sound alot over the standard steel cable? While the price-tag is hefty, I'm more than willing to pay up if it really is a great improvement. As much as I love the single sided cable, I just may have to give it up..- 2ndbest

Closed portable for a non IEM guy?
I love my HD25-1's for portable purposes. Yes they're pricey, but imho worth every penny I paid for them. They're small, extremely durable, the splitheadband is a great feature, and isolate extremely well. I use mine daily on a busride, and with the volume on my Zen Vision on 40% I can't...- 2ndbest

Confused... the HD25-1 has a huge bass hump and recessed mids!
I remember mine being somewhat boomy and with recessed mids in the beginning. I think I've put about 100 hours on them, and they've smoothed out alot since then.- 2ndbest

What are the best portable closed headphones in the market
Getting a headphile cable would mean no more single-sided cable right? That's one feature of the HD25 that I really, really love. Is there another option to recable it, and still keep the cable single sided?- 2ndbest
