I remember mine being somewhat boomy and with recessed mids in the beginning. I think I've put about 100 hours on them, and they've smoothed out alot since then.

Getting a headphile cable would mean no more single-sided cable right? That's one feature of the HD25 that I really, really love. Is there another option to recable it, and still keep the cable single sided?

I voted E3 because that's the best I've ever heard, and probably ever will hear. I'm not an 'IEM-type of guy'.
