I'm hoping the M-100's do one thing the m-80's fall short on besides soundstage.   The recessed Mids aka 80khz dip..   I finally got my Fiio e17 dac/amp and love the sound but hate the recessed mids.. They sound like the music is right next to me and all the vocals are 20 feet away.  ...

Since im like alot of folks out there, with not too much spare cash.. would this be a good starter setup? M100 and fiio E17.? Assuming the m100 gets good reviews, which i think will be a nobrainer.

I have to agree that the gr07's sound pretty similar to the m-80's   as far as an in ear monitor can sound like an on ear headphone.   The impact of the mid bass is much better on the M-80, yet the bass on the gr07's seem to go just a notch lower with a little bit better control.  ...
