Just got my first virus
I've been using computers anywhere from 10-40 hours per week since I was 5 years old (21 now), and I just got my first virus. Lame. Oh well, AVG cleaned it up in a jiffy -- what's everyone's personal record for going without a virus? Linux and Mac OS users don't count.- nibiyabi

OpenOffice.org Sucks
This is the last straw. I had been dealing with the minor annoyances up until now in an effort to save money, but now I see that you get what you pay for. This had already happened to me twice before, so I should have seen it coming, but this time it happened to me on a crucial assignment...- nibiyabi

Warriors fans (or any NBA fans): agree with the trade?
As some of you are certainly aware, the NBA draft occurred today. During the draft, the Warriors' front office traded Jason Richardson and Jermareo Davidson (Warriors' 36th pick) to the Bobcats in exchange for Brandan Wright. Was this a steal for either side or was it good for both teams (i.e...- nibiyabi

Music Composition Software?
My girlfriend is looking to get music composition software for her dad. She doesn't really have a budget, so fire away with the best cost-no-object software along with some good stuff that has price in mind. Thanks!- nibiyabi

Closed, Comfortable, Light, ~$100
I got my sister the A700 for her birthday. She likes the comfort and isolation, but she has a bad neck (which I forgot to figure in) and she finds the A700 difficult to wear for long periods due to its weight. Is there anything out there that is as comfortable and isolating but is lightweight...- nibiyabi

Tinnitus Getting Worse
I listen to my music very quietly, so quietly that even my audiophile friend says I'm missing details in the music. I have ER20 earplugs that I keep with me so I can shield my ears whenever I find myself in a noisy environment. I have been listening to music less and less ever since it started...- nibiyabi

iMod keeps pausing
I've been using my portable rig for quite some time now (Hornet M, iMod Photo, HD25-1/PK1) and I've always had some trouble with it. Back when I was using Rockbox (up until a few weeks ago), I had constant struggles keeping the sound from degrading while on-the-go -- the sound would suddenly...- nibiyabi

Custom earplugs for musicians (especially woodwinds (even more especially flutes))
I am looking at getting the Etymotic ER•15 (the ER•9 and ER•25 seem way too specialized) for my girlfriend. She plays the flute for the university orchestra and I can hear their practices from a great distance away so I know it's killing her hearing. She tried my ER•20 (Etymotic's cheap...- nibiyabi

Cheap 2.0 Computer Speakers
I looked around and not too surprisingly couldn't find anything to answer this question. Anyway, my grandma just got her new computer setup but has no speakers. She was just going to go to Best Buy or something but I know she won't get anything good there. The budget is probably like $50 and it...- nibiyabi

Bose OE: Trend?
I've noticed a lot of these on and around campus lately. It really makes me want to cry. It's so much worse than seeing someone with the AE because it's more expensive and so much worse than the AE (which is still abysmal, mind you). The worst example is someone who works in my building -- I saw...- nibiyabi

Just saw Hiromi in Oakland Last Night
Wow! She is so amazingly talented. There was a lot of improv on stage and she was having a lot of fun up there -- jumping around looking up in the air and smiling as she plays three instruments at once. At one point during a more mellow part of the performance (which didn't happen often) someone... -
