The paired ones have a capacitance of 680pF (Total 8), and the single ones have 2.2nF (Total 4)? That's what it says, and I also asked another person, he also said such a capacity.

All kinds of formats. FLAC, WAV, DSD and some mp3. It stucks always after the same period. It seems to me that it has to do with a limited amount of files in the buffer.
Looks like You have right. After all this problems with Zishan Z4 or Zishans on general I couldn't recommend it as all round devices.
It's not like other equipments don't have any issues, software or hardware from knows and expensive brands. Zishan have nice sound for as much as possible small amount of money.

For example my last purchase is BlueTooth cable from Knowledge Zenith KZ BT5.0 is completely disaster, so much noise and very loud chipset notifications same as from Kinera 40$ BT cable. It's unacceptable and can't be use with KZ in ear headphones 🤪 from Zishan U1 LO output 0 noise everything perfect. Fiio X3 also a lot of notice can't be used with sensitive IEMs.

I have a problem with the last firmware update 0.3. I use a 200 GB card and play my music through shuffle over the entire card with now 5744 files. After about 3,5 hours use the Z4 stucks in the same file. Skipping is no use. It stays in the same file. Only shutting down and restart will solve the problem for an other period of about 3,5 hours. Do others recognise the problem?
I faced with this problem. But I have music in flac album ISO + CUE playlist format, and if I enable random playback, then when I catch a song from the cue playlist, at the end the player hangs, and starts playing the first song since the power on. In this case the only thing left to do is to restart. To avoid problems like this, I cut the album into individual tracks and that was it. There was also a problem where I couldn't play individual tracks, as it turned out it was because of the album artwork, I just changed the display to a frequency/spectrum graph and the problem disappeared.

Hows this EQ looks like just take a picture.
you think it clamps for some reason?
nothing special actually, just tried to make hybrid iems more tolerable)

tried different eq presets
basically the more eq is changed the more jittery the sound becomes

this happens with 3.5 po and lo jacks
haven't tried balanced outputs

(hope the picture will stay)

Maybe try negative values? Looks like software problem.
Just form 0 on basa to -9 on highs, just drop all frequency by -5

yeah, that works, thanx!

overall like z4
i have a slightly modded z3
stock z4 sounds less detailed, but more balanced and comfortable
still waiting for balanced cable though

i've read through this topic but still struggling to figure out what mods will have most effect for less effort

maybe changing op275 with surrounding caps?

Z4 have better audio relay design from factor than Z3
Balanced mode helps a lot with Z4 its designer to works best.
Z4 have full differential (balanced) output.
It's not like always balanced is better but in that case - is. :)
Same as U1, Z3 or DSDs etc on single ended 3,5mm.

Well, Z4 as all Zishans will slightly change sound signature with different LPF. Changing capacitors and resistors for best possible ones as well but it's very demanding and expensive operation.
Fully modded Z4 isn't better than modded DSDs Dual AK4497 for sure.

I noticed such a thing, that if you turn on the player and do not connect headphones, holding it to the ear you can hear the noise of the current. If you plug in headphones, the noise becomes noticeably quieter, but still present. Is this normal?

i dont have noise

also i tried to shield electronics from antenna
inserted an aluminum foil sheet covered with tape between the battery and the board
it kinda helps but not 100%

I have DSD dual 4497 (0.5c) and Z4 (0.3) Never have problem playing FLAC, WAV, DSD, DSF, DFF files, even with a bit Fast Forward.

Exception:
DSD dual 4497 heats up after 20 min. Freeze ramdomly if I fast forward "too much."
Z4 has clicking/static sound when playing 11,200k+. DFF/DSF and 24bit FLAC. I think it is a known firmware problem.

I play DSD Dual 4497 most of the time.

I'm all amazed by the player: today I put it on charge and when charging, the indicator started flashing instead of the standard static glow. before that, I disassembled the player, soldered it and reassembled it. charging good(5V ~1.9A via usb tester). Hmm, strange..

An my mod already done:
100uF around opa2156
0.1% resistors in lpf.
+500uF add in filter(left capactiors array).
680pF in opa1622.
IMG_20220210_221009_GC6.1_gamma1.8.jpg

Results:
Now soundstage is wider and deep, highs and mids a bit more.
But but buttt: soundstage still behind my head :/ i don't know what to do

hey guy, this is my ever first Zishan products, gotta say Im quite happy with it. Using 3.5PO with my Dunu Zen Pro the sound quite nice.

My plan is to use this as a standalone dac to use with external amp.

Would you guys mind telling me what mod I have to do to improve the Lineout. My plan is changing the op275 to opa1656, what is the next thing I have to do ? Also is there a way to bypass the amp stage of 4.4 Port ? To make it to be 4.4 Lineout, that will be great.

Thanks
