yep, its running last firmware (v0.3) already.
Well i have to report to Zishan and i just wonder to stop support Z4 due a lot of malfunctions You and I was exposed and it's still there for some reason.
Z4 have nice sound of the box but no longer DIY friendly and troubles with hardware/software.

Z3 is value master under 50$, U1 the same and Zishan MD2 for 90$ as desktop DAC with BT.
Z4 is still not bugs free... and it's critical.

Well, that issue not a big problem to me, with ~100$ i think we can not offer more nowaday, but i still hope Zishan can do something with it in next fw, to make this babe more perfect, because i really love its sound (with this price, lol). I already ordered U1 to use with my PC, hope it can work with my headphones (still on the way) without any issue.

U1 is amazing same sound signature like Z4. With replaced LDO and opa sound the same as Z4.

I'm planning to use this z4 with AKG K712pro (still on the way to go my home), can it handle that headphone stand alone or still need a AMP (i ordered U1 to backup this plan is case)? Cause i read ppl said K712 is somewhat "power hunger".

There is no headphones Z4 can't handle on balanced and also handle 99% ever made headphones on 3,5mm single ended same as U1.
In Z4 highly recommended is balanced 4.4 or 2,5 output for best audio quality becouse of design - not power ability.
U1 is 3,5 and he works best that way already.

Thank mate.
i've bought a few of headphone (AKG K712Pro, ATH-MSR7, AKG k92) and it seem they don't have any 4.4 or 2.5 balanced jack already, what can i do in this case? Still have 3.5 output but its not the best option as you talk early. Should i use some adapter to make them work with balanced port (4.4 and 2.5) in my Z4?

Just buy balanced cable for K712Pro there are removable cable right?
MSR7 and k92 no need it.
It's not like 3,5 is useless it's working but best is balanced in that case. For portable use outside silent home balanced is no needed.

I'm all amazed by the player: today I put it on charge and when charging, the indicator started flashing instead of the standard static glow. before that, I disassembled the player, soldered it and reassembled it. charging good(5V ~1.9A via usb tester). Hmm, strange..

An my mod already done:
100uF around opa2156
0.1% resistors in lpf.
+500uF add in filter(left capactiors array).
680pF in opa1622.

Results:
Now soundstage is wider and deep, highs and mids a bit more.
But but buttt: soundstage still behind my head :/ i don't know what to do
do you feel the sound behind your head when using balance output too?
