That will depend on how the future plays out. In the future, unless there will be another Renaissance, what we call modern today will be the classical of that age.
 
In all seriousness though, I have nothing against classical music; I'm no buff, but I do know and listen to a little at times. What I am against is people belitting others for their tastes in music.

IMHO, I think that really there is no such thing as bad music,just personal taste, until we as a whole can actually sit,record,sell some form of music of any genre, it's really easy to sit in our glass towers and cast stones at those that do. Again IMHO

63 pages on "why the Beats hate"? I guess it's pretty simple, the products aren't good, especially for the prices. Booming bass without good definition is not hard to do. They sound very dark and colored and the NC causes some evil hiss. Build quality is sub-par too, I wonder how much it costs to make them? They do look nice, but that's pretty much it.

EDIT: This has nothing to do with genres, there are some great bassy hp's out there for hip-hop etc. I admit, my test with the new beats ended when I heard that high-pitched hiss...

Just some of the great headphones you can get for similar money to these 'excellent' Solo 2s (in the UK/Europe) some of which might have that BASS so beloved of the 'Beats are rubbish deniers'

Guess you and Tyll differ -- what makes this hobby fun imo. Just sayin' that many highly regarded reviewers (and open-minded Head-Fiers) have said similarly good things about the Solo 2's after giving them a listen. BTW, they are cheaper (even at $199 retail) than the cans you mentioned -- except for the H2's

The problem is that many folks on Head-Fi make statements (i.e. Beats Suck) about entire product lines with little or no actual listening experience with the cans that they're trashing...which adds little or no value to the conversation.

Not a Beats fanboy either as you can see from the equipment in my signature. FWIW, my Basshead-ish cans right now are D600, DT770, XBR950BT, and WS55's; still thinking about getting the SZ2000/1000's

When i was in Hamburg last year, i saw Beats invasion, everywhere train, metro, bus, park even museum people with beats!.. My Bfsaid jokingly, we are the Black sheep, just once saw a dude with some AKGs and three amplifier stack

Seriously though, my 'BTW' was just that...a sidenote. The bothersome thing to me is that anybody would not keep an open mind (like Tyll and other folks have) and instead dismiss something simply due to a preconception, bias, or worse yet a Head-Fi herd (not heard) mentality.
