What is the most comfortable headphones you've worn?

Wow, I can't believe all the love for the AKG K701/Q701?

I would agree that the weight for their size is good, and the ear pads are awesome, but that headband would become painfull in no time.

I think the HE500's are very comfy for a large set of cans, just wish they had used real leather on the pads.

You're not alone, the k701's headband is a pain after just half an hour of listening.

For me, the Dt880 is the most comfortable, followed by D7000 and AD700

Right now the most comfortable would be the AKG K501. There are some that come close but none has matched or surpassed them in comfort.

You really like those scratchy K501 pads?

Actually they're not bad, but I prefer the K601 in comfort slightly due to the softer pads. The Q701 pads are less soft and much harder.
The nice thing about the K601 and K501 is that they don't have those bumps on the headphone (which don't bother me that much though).

Somehow the angled pads of the Q701 take the comfort down maybe 2%.

Actually I really liked the K501 pads. They were a bit different than what I was used to but they still reign supreme to me. I've never tried the K701 so no idea how I would react to the bumps.

I'm with tyrael on this.

The DT-880 is ultra-soft, comfortable, and easy to wear for hours. I've used them for earmuffs.
The D5000/7000 is just as soft, but through a wonder of engineering, the pleather pads remain pleasantly cool even in warm weather.

I'd include my favorite headphone, the HD800, but it can be a tad warm and a little heavy.

Sennheiser HD headphones definitely are one of the most comfortable headphones I've worn thus far. Although the AKG K701 is not that far off.
