Both are great headphones. The Sundara has better treble extension, but I like the tonality of the Verum better. Hard to go wrong with either, to be perfectly honest.
Did not like Sundara at all - pair I had a few days were veiled in mids and this kind of upper glare to them to my ears anyway.

I also like Sundara. But I think Verum improves the Sundara in musicality.
I hope.
The Verum 1 has to compared with my Quad Era-1, which is a beast on the mids with well defined lows and highs.
Will order the V 1 next month, i think.

The Sundara are a more inferior headphone in key areas for me. An example is the Sundara has a more leaner pretension with some treble shout, bit more gritty. Verum is smoother, extends just as much but the FR is just a much more smooth sail, voices have more body, the overall depth is better. Resolution on the Verum is also superior, it has resolve abilities on par with good LCD-2's and a better timbre than the more steely, LCD-X. Verum reminds me of a planar, old HD600 with a smoother upper mid range and cleaner more extended low bass.

The Era may have a more extended sound at the ends, but you can try different pads that change the sound for more bass or less (on the Verums).
Yes, i saw Oluv's review.
