USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Hi guys, looking for some help. I have version 6.1.1.6 on my N7, and I've been told this is an old version. However the playstore doesn't show any updates. I also have an older Tidal version I think. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I think latest version is 6.1.3.9, but that is "Beta".
So in Android you have to enroll for beta testing and you'll get beta updates.

Hi,

Just installed the latest UAPP 6.1.3.9 update.

I am happy to report that it now works even if the "Send as bit-perfect" is not checked.
Still, the player reports it is receiving a 32-bit file, when the original file is 16-bit.

I am SUPER HAPPY to report that EQ is applied even when casting !
It takes a little time to be applied, but it works.
And from the update info it seems that this probably explains the above "32-bits" thing.
Indeed it is said that to be sent with processing, it has to be converted to 32 bit .wav (if I understood it correctly).

Unfortunately, everything is not perfect :frowning2:
I checked the box where it says : "This device supports gapless playback".
If I don't check it, tracks are stuck and I have to go to the next track manually...
If I check it, I have like 3 to 8 seconds between tracks depending what album I am playing.

And it often happens that, at the end of the track I get a totally scrambled sound (like white noise).
And a "pop" when going to one track to another.

If the team could look into that... If I can provide logs, I'll gladly do.

Regards.

I have an issue using tidal on Ibasso dx170, tracks are randomly moving on to the next one, sometimes after about 30 secs, sometimes after a couple of minutes….sometimes not at all. Any advice appreciated

Hi,
Installed the newest 6.1.4.0 Beta.
Here is how I use it.

- Shanling EH-3 network player with USB stick attached
- UAPP retrieving music from the Shanling EH-3
- Shanling EH-3 set to UPnP renderer.
- UAPP sending the modified files (with EQ) to Shanling EH-3 player

It works.

BUT : at the end of each track, UAPP is a little lost :frowning2:
The track stops playing.
Then I have a weird "pink noise" or "white noise" for about 3/4 seconds.
Then I have a silence.
Finally, UAPP skips to next track. Sometimes it just stops (or I did not wait long enougn).

Not sure how to report this or if someone from the dev team is reading this.
I went to official site an forum, but nothing about "Beta" version...

Hi,

Installed the latest 6.1.4.2 Beta of UAPP.

Sadly it still shows A LOT of problems under thses circumstances :
- UAPP used to stream music to a DLNA renderer over Wi-Fi ;
- Music sent has "modifications" (MorphIt or PEQ).

What happens is that, 12/15 seconds before end of track, the playback stops.
Then after 8/10 seconds there is a scrambled second of playback and/or a second of Pink Noise.
Then, if I am lucky, UAPP skips to next track.

Same happens under those circumstances :
- UAPP used to stream music to a DLNA renderer over Wi-Fi ;
- renderer set to "This renderer allows gapless playback"
- with ot without sound modification (MorphIt or PEQ). .

I really hope the UAPP team will come up with a fix for this at some point...
Not sure the culprit is UAPP. It might be the renderer (a Shanling EH-3).

Regards.

I've cheated on USBAPP this week and spent some time with Plexamp.

I really prefer the sound of USBAPP, but one thing I did notice is how nice Plexamp looks on the "Now Playing" screen - it might be the fact that the background colour is more muted. I'd love a more subtle colour option, any chance of that? (I know, it's just cosmetic, and the sound is more important, but...you know...)

Hi,

Not sure how PlexAmp works on sound and if it converts sound or not.

UAPP has now the ability to transmit modified sound (with EQ) even wirelessly.
To my knowledge, there ae only two apps capable of doing that : UAPP and Neutron Audio Player.
PlexAmp can not even stream to DLAN/UPnP, only to Chromecast compatible devices...

The problem is, as soon as I activate that function, I get problems (but probably related to my onw renderer the Shanling EH-3).
UAPP and Neutron are probably not the culprit there...

Regards.
