@m-i-c-k-e-y - Over the years, you've mentioned running UAPP on Android TV boxes - and I was wondering which box you're using these days?
What sorts of outputs does it have (HDMI, USB, SPDIF)?
Does it have the ability to "side-load" apps?

Thanks,
David

Hi David and Merry Christmas!

What I have right now is a Bee-link GT-King. It has now a newer version GT-King II. Yes it has Hdmi, USB(OTG) Spdif(Toslink), Headphone Out. And yes you could sideload apps.

Other interesting boxes from Bee-link are:
GT-King Pro
GS-King

It's been less than a year that I am not using my Android TV Box as player/streamer(UPnP) since I bought myself an Audiobyte Hydra.Hub to complete my stack.

Thanks for the update!
.
Does UAPP operate the same on the Android TV boxes, as it does on a phone?
Meaning that you can listen to local music tracks, music streamed from Qobuz and Tidal, or music from online "radio" streams?
.
I noticed that the Hydra Hub lists two USB Inputs - 1 as a Host, and 1 as an Audio Device. Does that mean it can act as a USB DAC, or send audio to an external USB DAC?

With UAPP -
Is the error only with USB connection to RU6 ,
or even without USB connection , at direct connection ( with Headphone , Inear , )
at the source device ?
I was able to check today: The problems are ONLY when using RU6 with UAPP. Not if I use RU6 with any other music app, nor if I use UAPP with just my phone. And the delay is quite long. Do you know Peter Gabriel's Big Time? It starts with a voice saying Hi there! 4 out if 5 times I don't hear that when using RU6 with UAPP, while when using UAPP on my phone I heard it 10 out of 10 times. Same when using RU6 with Poweramp.

Wondering whether I should contact Davey for thoughts? Or does he chime in here every now and then?

Tnx...

Is this happening when selecting a new track/album or when transitioning naturally from one to another?

I've noticed that when skipping/selecting a new track on Qobuz through UAPP with the Cayin RU6, there can be a slight delay. I've tested pausing the current track before selecting a new track and this seems to eliminate the delay. I don't know if this helps?

It happens with every first track of an album, any track I manually click on, and when using a playing list.

Have the same issue with my Fiio M11 Plus when using UAPP
While playing music from your phone? Or do you use UAPP on the M11 Plus? I'm asking because today I tried a Sony DAP while playing from my phone and it didn't have this problem at all. So that made me think it only happens when playing music from a phone, using UAPP, in combination with RU6. But if you have a very different situation with your FiiO... 🥴

Hello UAPP fans,

I am using this for a couple of years now and getting m3u playlists to work in UAPP has been, say, a major PITA.....

Player: Shanling M3 Ultra (Android 10)
On the playlist screen the three vertical dots are not displayed and thus you cannot import playlists. I tried all other things I could think of, but UAPP is just stubborn and does nothing.

Phone: MotoX4 (Android 10)
Same effect

Phone: Samsung S10e (Android 12) --> here this works flawlessly. The three dots then offer import playlist and export playlist. Tap tap done.

I have not been able to figure this out in Android 10. The player version is the one released today. 6.0.9.4

Need to add this:
1. The music folder is on the SD card
2. The m3u playlists work on both (M3 Ultra and Moto X4) using other music apps, thus the relative file paths should be OK.

Any idea to get this to work on Android 10 is greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Can you access the Playlists using the Folder browsing mode in UAPP?
If you can access them that way, it should give you the option of opening / converting them as UAPP Playlists.

Another way is to access your music through the Library function on UAPP which will browse the SD card/internal folders of your device and remember the pathway for future use.

Yes, I can navigate to it. Tried context, double click and single click. Every time the dialog "Allow to create UAPP...for faster ..." (along those lines) pops up. Regardless of my yes/no on that dialog, UAPP creates a XML file with the same Playlist name, but fails to create any data. The file contains the header and the container XML commands, but not a single row of data. I even tried a Playlist which contains just two songs with plain ASCII title, album etc. to make sure that UAPP does not trip over 'foreign' characters.

Oddly enough if I just use the library file browser and add them to a new playlist it will create that XML file just fine. This has been my 'work around' for the longest time, but this is really painful.

Cheers.
