I’ve run into an issue….changed my phone which takes an sd card, try to scan but get the following message….”Can’t use this folder, To protect your privacy choose another folder” I can see all albums individually but it won’t let me scan. No issues with Hiby Player scanning.

I believe you need to use the "Add folder using Storage Access Framework" option on Android 11 and above.

Problem is there’s nothing in there?
Maybe try uninstalling UAPP and starting from scratch. UAPP should prompt for the music libraries during initial setup. Do you have your music files in a folder called "music" on the SD card?

Hello everyone,

This is my first message on head-fi. Maybe someone could help me ? :)

I love this UAPP application but I encounter a very strange behaviour in USB from Android with my new external Amp/Dac Fiio K9. Let me try to explain:

- Both "USB DAC" driver and "Direct" driver work in USB with my external Amp/Dac in USB. I thought only the "USB DAC" driver could work with an USB external dac, I was wrong ?

- The sound is very different regarding which driver is used (USB DAC or Direct), on the same external Amp / DAC, in USB:

-> Direct: very well balanced sound, smooth, great.
-> USB DAC: more details among the instruments but the basses are more stronger (almost unconfortable), and the voices are "behind the scene", more distant.

So i prefer use the Direct driver with my external USB Amp/Dac but i find this not natural;

Did I miss something in the setup of UAPP ?

Hi,

Now that I've started using UAPP every day with my RU6 instead of incidentally, it becomes more and more frustrating that 4 out of 5 times I miss up to probably the first 0.50-0.75 seconds of the start of an album. Even after adjusting the delay in the latest version it doesn't change the problem at all for me, and I think the problem isn't a delay problem at all because 1 out of 5 times it works like it should. Depending on the album there's so much info in the first chord that I keep pushing start 4-5 times until the song is played the way it should. Takes away much of the fun tbh.

Is this a problem for others too? And, if so, is there a workaround or so? Tnx...

Music from memory Card or streaming ?
If streaming I did the following .
I turned off the Quick start,
Network Puffer Size of 15 sec and 32 GB
Network Block, and it works well .
Or Without Ru6 everything works without problems ?

Tnx, I don't stream though and play from SDcard. Other apps don't have this problem so I figured it had to be UAPP. I know Davey added a start-up delay option but that is not a solution for this problem.

With UAPP -
Is the error only with USB connection to RU6 ,
or even without USB connection , at direct connection ( with Headphone , Inear , )
at the source device ?
Excellent question that I can't answer at this moment as my phone doesn't accept 4.4 mm 😁 I might be able to double-check this Wednesday and will come back on the topic. I did double-check on the speakers and that seems to be just fine so it for now I still think it's the RU6/UAPP combination.

I haven't noticed this thread until today. I've been using you UAPP for a few years now and I love it. Even when I wi-fi stream Tidal using usb OTG from Android to dac I always open UAPP first and let Tidal piggyback so to speak off of it. To me nothing sounds as good as it does. Even listening to flac files bit perfect, they sound noticeably better than sending those same bit perfect files from a dap to my dac. One would think a bit perfect is bit perfect but somehow UAPP seems to waive a magical wand over them. I'm just happy to find this thread and now that I've posted I'll get a notification each time it gets updated. Cheers
