aaaactually, I might be hearing more of a difference with this one song in particular...   I feel like there is a littttle more resolution with the silver cables (more clarity).  And the bass doesn't sound as boomy.

kinda crazy--I was just about to dismiss that there could be a difference.  Have you seen the thread about how there's supposedly NO scientific proof that they sound different?  Using double blind tests, etc..  who knows...but I think I"m actually starting to hear it a little bit.  Wow, starting to notice it just a little more.  Bass seems more tight/less boomy.  The highs aren't AS sharp (I never had issues with too harsh of highs), but the lune cable sounds a little more refined.  These cables have been reviewed by some to bring the mids more forward.  I haven't really listened for that yet.    I also tried pairing with my E17 amp and turned up the treble all the way....the lune cable was more bearable, while it kinda hurt to listen to the stock cable by a very slight margin.

For one, I might have been looking for a huge change.....but honestly, there really isn't anything to fix with the TF10....they're so perfect to me as it is.

The song I"m listening to now and hearing more of a difference is:  Menno De Jong - Turtle Paradise (original mix).  a quite bassy/energetic trance song.

To be truthful... I do think sound does change with the cables.  I don't think it's anything revolutionary... or anything, but when I tried a Mogami W2534 cable on my TF10, it sound cleaner than stock (more detail), but it also sound "tinny" and almost lifeless.  The bass was mostly gone too.  I then tried the Furutech Cable, and that too was very similar... it did have a little more bass though.  So in those two changes, I liked the stock cable better... just not the actual cable.  I then built one from UP-OCC Copper from Toxic Cables, and I wanted some kind of change (as I cut up my stock cable to make the Mogami one), for the better of course.  What I ended up with, is my most fav cable to date.  It gave my DAP and everything a slightly more "Tube" sound to it.  The bass was back (big time) and mids seemed a little better, the highs were slightly rolled off, but everything had a little more detail.  Definitely worth the upgrade to me.  Though, this all has to be put into perspective, as I did hear change... doesn't mean everyone would hear the same changes, and it wasn't like night and day changes either.  Enough though, to make me happy.  I'm no longer searching for another cable for the TF10.

after how long?

man...i've loved the TF10s for maybe 4 years now.  I've had them on and off, but always ended up buying another pair and going back to them because I missed them so much.  Tomorrow my null audio lune silver cable arrives and I have high hopes of how it'll improve the sound - any improvement will be incredible :D

Oh god, I've had them about several months now. Think it may be the tips I'm using though.

high guys, currently using the tf10
smily_headphones1.gif
  - good bass, and highs I just love the instrument separation.
However, the vocal is really less clear than my liking - are there any way to tweak it?

Would you say maybe triplefi 10 is on the same tier as the Shure SE535? Thinking of getting the Shure for warmer, more vibrant voice - but not sure if its worth spending the extra given tf10 is suppose to be amongst the best.
The triplefi 10 is really good all around, but vocal on does leave a bit to be desired. (this is more a sound signature preference).

silver cables such as Chris Himself cables or null audio Arete cables are supposed to bring mids more forward.  i've never really had a problem with mids with tf10.  Do you  just not to want to use an equalizer at all?

+1.... I have an EQ setting on my DAP for the TF10 to compensate some for the mids.  I turn it off when using my CIEMS.

I EQ my TF10, I don't have any problem with mid range as you can see by my settings.

I EQ all my IEM's actually to something like this....

nooooooooooo my newly acquired used Null Audio Lune cables is cutting in and out when I move the cable in certain ways (hard to tell exactly where since they're so thin and frail)... i know it's not the connector pins.  It didn't happen when I just got them.....i've been listening to them for a few hours and burning them in sitting on my desk for maybe 10 hours....I took them out today and was moving around more......I tried unplugging and putting the other earphone on that cable--it's that one cable :(

What to do?  Is there a way to fix?  Perhaps ship it to someone like Chrishimself?    :(   I don't believe the seller is responsible.....although, if I were the seller I could understand if someone asked for a refund (I probably would be hesitant to give the refund actually if it sounded fine when it left my hands)....   But he hadn't used them in a while, either.....

it doesn't happen always--but pretty much I can make it happen by cocking my head to one side or touching the cable or something..    :(

I know this is an appreciation Thread, but I have a question for those who owns the triplefi 10 (since the thread for this question seems no longer active), do you sometimes hear buzzing sounds at certain frequency with these earphones? I can certainly hear it in mine, but don't know if it is because I got a defective pair or all of them are like that? I sent mine back to Amazon and expecting a new pair to show up in about two days, but the tension is stressing me out, because I've spent a lot of money on them, and expecting them to sound clear. By the way I usually listen to Rock Music, is it maybe because of the music?

Thanks

I've had this with a few songs on one rip I made of my Pink Floyd DVD, I was convinced it was a loose driver vibrating against the shell at a certain frequency and volume but it turned out be bad settings Id chosen on the ripping software. Different setting solved it completely and everything is crystal clear again.

A lot of people dont start off with a good source which could be the root of your problem. I have an Ipod Touch 4G, and Iphone 3G and a Nano 6G and although they may sound ok to listeners who haven't tried anything else. All I can say is once you have heard TF10's through a DAP with a very good Amp such as ie, a Sony X-series.. you cant go back.
My 'I-stuff' just sound thin, low res and untextured in comparison.. I just cant use them for listening to music anymore. :/
