I'm going to enter the amp world for my TF10's. What would be a solid portable earphone amp to go with an iPod touch 4G for around $100?

Your best bets will be Soundmagic A10, used T3, and possibly the Fiio E11.  T3 should be the best of the three, I imagine the Fiio and Soundmagic amps will be warmer in sound.

funny you said that im re ripping my music today to losless, no use for flac since ipod and iphone dont play it

I would love to hear your thoughts once done, for me it is not so much about detail but more about how higher bit rates give more emotion and feeling to the music!

Thanks for the tips, guys. The Soundmagic A10 and the Fiio E11 aren't out yet right? I definitely like the look of the T3 and E11.

Just to note, I am re-encoding all my songs to Apple Lossless right now.

MP4 Nation has the A10.
I'm a bit interested in the A10 myself.  =]

ClieOS found it to be inbetween his T3 and T4 in terms of sound quality, and it should be slightly smaller than my Minbox-E+ amp.

Thanks for the info again.

I think I'm towards the iBasso T3 or T3D. Is there a difference between the sound of the two?
What would a market price for a used iBasso T3 or T3D?(I can't seem to find any in the sale forums right now.)

I just noticed that I would have to get a LOD. Would it be possible to just make one by yourself?

Sure, a DIY LOD would be the best bang for buck.

I would like to have a little bit of experience in DIY cabling to prepare for my TF10 cables once they break.

Um, what would be the market price for a used iBasso T3?

That's why the TF10 has replaceable cables (you'd be surprised how many people don't know this)

finally the tf10's arrive after the long wait

first impressions:

bass authority. a bit laid back mids. sparkly nice treble
its not better than my westone 4 but is better in terms of sheer musical enjoyment or what you call "fun"
question, what tips do you guys recommend? the stock small single flange seems to fit well

If it fits well to you then I think you're alright.
I never got a seal with the stock tips on my right ear, so I got the Sony Hybrid XS size tips. Plus, the flip mod really helped me have a good fit.

custom tips all the way! The stock tips seriously let the TF10 down, and that wearability is their only significant downfall.. I never go for foam, you always lose a bit of bass as it just isn't airtight no matter how snug you get it.
