I came in at the beginings of Ritalin. My parents would give me a pill when I got out of control but by the time they would make me pop the pill, the "Episode" was over allready. It wasn't until the late 60's when they figured out you needed to have a Ritalin level "On Board" at all times.

You can replace the pads of a 2500 with Beyers right? Anything else? THe stock pads on mine are getting the boot as soon as possible. Any sonic change with Beyer pads? The velor ones.

Beyer pads wont fit Ultrasones.

There's a new Ultrasone headphone "Zino" in the works and may be coming out as early as June, a semi-closed headphone to replace the semi-open iCans. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f103/u...e-zino-418342/

I just got iCans a week ago, and I must say, 90% of Ultrasone's poor reviews in magazines and forums etc are probably due to the fact their headphones take 100+ hours of burn-in to even begin to sound right, I heard Ultrasones require that much possibly because of the diodeboard they use to prevent current overload. The iCans literally sounded like $2 headphones (reminded me of a noname tapeplayer I tried to buy at a drugstore for $10) for the initial two hours, and now that I'm at 100 hours the sound is totally different. I think we should start a petition (better than e-mail spamming) to Ultrasone to insert in their manuals a sentence like, "Please allow 100-hours to 300 hours of play at low-normal listening level to achieve optimal sound quality." I'm very sick and tired of reading all these reviews which don't specify burn-in time or seem aware of burn-in, and if the Zino requires as much burn-in as the iCans and reviewers don't know that then the Zino will get dissed and sidelined just like the iCans were. I know burning in counts as wear-and-tear but geez, a little warning in the manual could go a long way in not scaring away customers.

DT 880 is semi closed as well... What is the point marketing as semi open... Then people think it´s less airy... Semi closed people think it have some isolation

hd201, semi-closed bc it looks closed but it leaks and doesnt isolate sound.

Sorry I tried figuring out the difference by looking at some pictures online and thought "semi" means the cups just lay on your ears. Then the open or closed part is if it is open or closed, but if the Zino leaks as much as the iCans I'm afraid the only way to describe Ultrasone would be "Even as a dog returns to its vomit, so a man returns to his folly”. Don't make the leakage mistake again I want to buy a Zino :[.

What don't you like about the PL2500 w/stock pads?

What kind of improvement are you looking for?

Just thought I'd pop in to say I'm officially part of the club now, I guess. I just received a pair of HFI-650 that I won on Ebay. I plan on using them mainly for movies, and as a transportable setup (travel, office, etc.) with my Leckerton UHA-3, which powers them wonderfully.

By the way: movies sound fantastic so far, for the record.
