i get that, just not something i would ever use to describe audio but to each their own! Dry/coarse is much better.

Welcome to the R8 II Case Pentaconn Support Group.While I’m loving the R8 II so far, the case is annoying in that I’m finding a few 4.4mm plugs won’t connect properly as the gap isn’t sufficiently wide… these aren’t even particularly big plugs either! Looks like I’ll have to ditch the case.

I know what etching means in semiconductor industry. However, it reminders me what you might hear if you used a metal fork to scratch your plate.
