never heard this term before and it doesn't seem to be a real word... would maybe use something else to describe it.

While I’m loving the R8 II so far, the case is annoying in that I’m finding a few 4.4mm plugs won’t connect properly as the gap isn’t sufficiently wide… these aren’t even particularly big plugs either! Looks like I’ll have to ditch the case.

I know what etching means in semiconductor industry. However, it reminders me what you might hear if you used a metal fork to scratch your plate.

Actually, there is no sound, scratching...it's just a simple drawing, just like on the paper with the pencil.
And afterwards, acid does the rest...before printing.
There is no sound even when you do engraving. The plate is soft zinc, and the knives are hard and sharp.

If that is a TPU case just mark how big you need opening with a felt pen then take an exacto-knife and whittle it out. :beerchug:

Note to self: add 'etchy' to audio vocab blacklist, alongside 'clinical'.

It’s a very high quality “TPU” case, I feel like cutting it would be quite tedious. HiBy have really missed the mark with their stock cases on RS8 (exposed back which makes it prone to scratches), R6 Pro 2 (it makes the buttons way too sensitive), and R8 II… see above.
