Elysian Annihilator
Great tonal balance, too lean mids make female vocals focus on upper mids and treble only (making them sound 5-10 years younger), slightly nasal, disconnected s sounds, whispy, unlistenable, excellent details, good imaging and spatial cues, plenty of air around instruments, excellent dynamics, bit thumpy low end.

Elysian Annihilator (2nd demo, see the linked to Singapore write-up)
Great tonal balance. Slightly veiled. Okay-ish imaging. Singer becomes one with instruments and doesn't stand out, where I prefer a big step in front of the instruments like on stage. Acoustic bass boomy and too much body in comparison to singers. Okay-ish resolution in mids but I'm missing info. Missing attack and air in acoustic guitar strings. Low resolution in low end. Small-ish soundstage but very good imaging nevertheless. Quite power hungry. Truly hate the pressure on especially my left ear drum, guessing it's not vented in any way.

Interesting analysis. I can almost tell what you mean about female vocalists sounding a bit younger. I don't listen to a lot of female vocal heavy tracks but between Gaea, Annihilator and Diva I think Gaea renders them the best for me.
Compared to Gaea Annihilator has...I wouldn't call it glare but a similar sort of ethereal quality to the upper mids that Supermoon has. Maybe this changes with more power I...I'll definitely be seeking out a new source sooner or later. I do think Annihilator has a less analogue/more digital flavour to the timbre though, as also with Supermoon, I'm not prepared to call it unnatural...though I understand why this would not be a timbre-head's first choice in an IEM.

Rockwell's current Based-on-Nothing-But-Pure Enjoyment top 5:

1) Annihilator
2) Gaea
3) Supermoon
4) EXT
5) Trifecta

I guess a good thing with Jewel Fabio is if you buy a used Uni and don't like them, you'll get your money back no problem. The one stand out downside is it'll most likely be beneficial to get a good copper cable to go with them, which is additional cost. Used Jewel already has depreciation built in though, unlike Ragnar.
Jewel's stock cable doesn't perform well?

Tnx for the feedback, Jeff. Remember that my impressions always come unfiltered as I write down whatever pops up when I'm listening. I'm curious what you think about texture and definition of sub/mid bass once you've made up your mind. Better still: Please do some kind of mini review once you've seen the light.

I wasn't critiquing your impressions just trying to relate them to my own via the avenue of my own music and preferences. I find the texture of the bass ok, definitely a mid-bass emphasis over sub-bass...but this is by no means an IEM about bass. It's adequate and gets by for me because it doesn't do anything egregiously wrong...the bass just doesn't stand out. I would agree that the low end is the least resolving area of the FR on Annihilator. On the other hand I can name a dozen IEMs that are all sterling examples of various types of bass...in general I think it's a lot more difficult (and less common) to be as refined and resolving as Annihilator is in the highs and this is what's really had a spell on me about Elysian's sound ever since I first really connected with Gaea.

I haven't done a lot of cable rolling with Jewel but the stock cable is pretty cheap feeling.

@audio123 Where does your Titan fit in?

@Xinlisupreme I saw Acoustune released their 4th acoustic chamber. Have you seen it mentioned anywhere?

Material and driver difference mainly.
In this order: Material, Driver, Sound characteristics (ignorable coz they are "official" statements), Colour, Price.

Have you heard them by any chance or do you know anyone who has? I absolutely like the HS2000MX except its very bright treble and I'm thinking the chambers do very little in that area. If they do though than I'm going to do whatever it takes to demo them.

Wifi was abandoning her laptop
..(bought on 2021 Black Friday)
..(1Yr passed)
..

Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 13.3ā€ AMOLED.
Sheā€™s only sticking to my thinkpad yoga 14ā€ for netflix. Soā€¦ I brought it near my bean bag. I tried to use Audioquest Dragonfly but this one do not have USB A(I hate dragontail usb A to c adapter.. SQ degradation). Soā€¦ hooked up Cayin RU6 high gain , set up Audirvana studio(Tidal connection). All set!

Upper: F- Porta Pro (F stands for fake). Ali Express MMCX driver unit and ear pad fitted with a genuine Porta pro limited(Beige color) head band ā€” Cable: TRN T2 PRO( Interchangeable termination: 3.5mm and 4.4mm)

Lower: Mest2( Xelastec eartip)- PW Attila

SQ? Sooo Goodā€¦. ā€¦ Tame my DAP craving. Audirvana is good for airy sweat vocal I think.. Mext would improve bass even more.
RU6 is SE(single ended) only but it helps noice vocal and ok soundstage!
It streams unlike most of my DAPs. Sweat stream.

In case you wanna know where to buy F-Porta Pro.. It is a hot item in Korean Audiophile community. Good resolution and balanced tonality- very good mid/bass and improved treble compared to stock:
https://m.aliexpress.com/store/1101253488
You need to buy mmcx driver, foam pad. Their headband is optional. I much prefer Genuine porta-pro headband. You may also swap Yaxi earpad from Japan. Though, I felt Ali earpad gives much better mid/vocal.
TRN T2 pro cable is optional.

But I prefer Mest2, probably.
