Just got Burson Op-Amps for my A100TB, and I am super impressed! Wow, what a difference a pair of tiny metal cubes can make. Make sure you get them direct from Burson, spend the $78 and be happy for the opportunity.

I've said it before, but the Aroma stack is the real deal, stellar. Thanks to @efftee for the great recommendations, my all things amp "Yoda" :)

Doesn't Peter mention whose cables he's using? Has anyone built his own cables here, ordering materials directly from for instance Cardas (like Justin I assume)?

There's a now deleted post on the PW Thread of a HFier saying Peter told him Orpheus was a 8 wire 1950s.

I believe you can actually find it quote if you have the to scroll through.

PW has never mentioned the 50s and 60s are sourced from Cardas. Marketing has always insisted they're hand built by PW, which is true to an extent.

They is a great misunderstanding about the cable materials.

For instance, the real good silver cables don't at all sound thin, or shrill, or aggressive, with no bass foundation, etc. : this is the exact contrary.

And I know pure copper cables that are very fast, precise, etc.
I think it's just prejudice. I heard a lot of them about silver - as if it makes the sound bright and anemic.

In my experience, such a cable is still to be found, if we are talking about good silver cables.
As a rule, they maintain the balance of micro and macro very well, conveying good detail and depth, but without violating the integrity.

On the other hand, I completely agree, I heard also bright copper cables.

1960s and 1950s are confirmed Cardas. The rest, who knows?
Definitely not me. I'd be interested to find out, but I guess I just have to get the 1960s and 1950s and use Superman's vision.
Or analyze them in a different way.
Or just don't waste time on nonsense and just listen to good music. It is more useful)

These really are growing on me more with each session - I wasn't sure when they landed on Monday, it's taken time to 'understand' their tuning, and I'm not even at a point where I'd comfortably articulate how they sound. That said, some observations.
  • A lot of tip experimentation, Final E tips the preference at the moment
  • I've left them burn-in pretty much around the clock, and my burn-in scepticism is being eroded with each day that passes...
  • Shanling M9 has better synergy vs LPGT - Twilight seems to benefit from the extra low end kick, and the hint of warmth M9 delivers
  • Mids are definitely a strong point; clear, lush, very distinctive and captivating
  • While the lows are somewhat taking a backseat, both mid and sub are very satisfying... again, especially with M9
  • Treble is catching me out at times, it can almost be harsh and with some recordings, I've found it a bit too much. However, a huge positive here is that for a lot of recordings, it's fantastic - I'm finding percussion for example sounds incredible, cymbals and snares are incredibly lifelike and with fantastic control
  • Good sized stage, excellent width and fantastic imaging
  • I don't think they'll be an all-rounder, I need to get through more genres to really nail where they are working best
  • Love the cable!
Looking forward to more time over the weekend, definitely shaping up to be a very high performing set.

Edit - the strings in this track sound utterly beautiful, proper catch my breath stuff.

You've got a ton of DDs! Any chance we could persuade you to do a bit of a DD shootout/comparison with your collection sometime?

Isnt complement c quite thick (~19awg) and can be quite heavy for iem?
Oh man... I'm using DHC Symbiote Elite right now)

So, Complement C without external shielding is twice as thin. It's not the most comfortable of cables, and it's not an ergonomic horror either.
It is some softer and thinner than, say, Dunu Hulk.
