My week has been all about the love affair with FH9, latest Bonobo currently playing and sounding wonderful.

It all starts, imo and ends, with Bach. Cello suits are iconic, from Fournier to Enders, to Dumas , Gregson recomposed. Course his harpsi chord fugues and organs are monumental. Vivaldi four seasons never gets old if bach doesn’t hit
Thanks, I appreciate it. I also can't believe I forgot about Bach. (face palm)

Been busy enjoying my current iem's and all the music I neglect when I am testing out new gear. Nice to take a break from the climb and look around a little.

Lately I start the day with Eden and Antonio Carlos Jobim or Metheny or Sun Ra, then slowly move into some work happy ambient, and then experimental rock, swap iem's, either Noir, Isa, or Turii. Then electronic whatever, followed up by some light metal/ hip hop/ or lately, female vocal pop. Then some extreme metal on Turii or MEST, if I am feeling it. Turii doesn't really come alive till you pass a certain SPL, so its a good iem to finish off the day with.

I have an Indigo I've been auditioning, but I don't think it "does it" for me. Will probably be selling. Feel free to PM me if you are interested.

Can anyone refer some of their favorite classical recordings that are "need to hear"? I'd super-appreciate it, and browsing around is hit or miss for me. Rimsky-Korsakov, Saint-Saens, Ravel, are some of my favs.
Have you heard Metheny's Side-Eye NYC live album? If not, it's for sure worth checking out! A mix of old and new tracks. Lodger is a standout for me... bit of a departure from his usual style but it's an absolute jam.

Finally got home from Las Vegas last night. As I reported earlier, I went there for the Consumer Electronics Show. Was getting ready to go home and tested positive for Covid-19 on 1/10. Extended my trip for a week and then tested positive again on 1/17, so I extended for another week. Tested negative on 1/24, so flew home last night. I am triple vaxxed and the symptons were pretty mild, but I didn't want to be a vector for further spread so I self quarantined in a Condo for 2 weeks. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

I had all of these toys waiting for me at home and I stayed up until 5 am listening and watching that EPIC quarterfinal tennis match between Medvedev and Auger-Aliassime.

So far, here is the best thing I listened to. Hiby RS6 + UM Indigo. The RS6 is just like the R6 2020 in form factor and feature set. It just sounds a helluva lot better. I was worried about the reports of the RS6 needing dozens if not hundreds of hours of burn in time. Fortunately, for me, I didn't need that. It might get better, but it sounds great out of the box to me. I've found that I really love the natural sound for the R2R Dacs. I do prefer it slightly over my DX300 because it has better treble. Reminds me of when I was A/B testing the dongles

I am listening to Boston on it right now and this DAP really brings this music to life. More later as I get more listening time in.

No, I haven't heard it yet, but that will be rectified soon. Cheers!

How is the synergy? Is rs6 reference sounding or warm?

I wouldn't classify it as either. To me, the DX300 is warm. Chord Mojo is warm. The RS6 has a more natural timbre and better treble response. And, it makes the sound more punchy and vibrant. This must be a feature of the R2R DAC because I had a very similar impression when comparing the RU6 to the Lotoo PAW S2. I would classified it as natural and exciting. Some might call that musical, but I am not sure of the exact definition of musical. To me, S2 is more reference.

Edited to note: I see now that you are referring to the synergy or RS6 with Indigo. It moves the Indigo into the direction of reference relative to DX300.

Thanks, how does it compare technically To dx300? Staging, extension both ends?

I am catching up with work. I'll do some more A/B testing later for you. Remember, I am listening with AMP12 on the DX300 which is warmer than the AMP11.

The biggest difference is in the treble response. It gives it more treble air and therefore a greater sense of sound stage. Not sure which extends more. Not sure which is technically more adept. Need more listening to know for sure.

I always loved the R6 2020 form factor. Since it is smaller, I really like the RS6.

Cheers. Size is really attractive. I just was not sure about SQ.

It's been a bit...

...around the Watercooler lately? Fear not, there's some thunder rumbling on the horizon...

Oooh curious. I’ve been enjoying everyone’s posts but now that I’ve finally heard EXT I’m pretty satisfied with my current setup and beyond a source upgrade down the road and whatever Campfire might be cooking up there isn’t really anything out or on the horizon that interests me.

Today I got to go snowshoeing on a trail where the whiskey jacks will eat out of your hand.

Really nice. It looks like it has been tagged. Is that a common practice to track the birds behavior?

Have you tried RU6? If you like that dongle, you will probably like RS6. They sound pretty similar. Well, I haven't A/B tested them yet, but that is what my mind is telling me.
