i don’t think it was an arbitrary choice they made. it was a deliberate one to overcome some tuning issues they had on the way.

Oh no doubt it wasn't. I'm just curious what the reason was, especially when weighed against the practical cost of severly constricting what one can use as a source. I find Singularity needs a lot of power-- it sounds magnificent through my Rs8...but it is lacking through my SR35, which is my favorite and most used portable source, which means it doesn't get as much ear time as otherwise it would. This is just a personal use case thing for me, but I am curious.

RN6 VS XE6..I have the Singularity and am looking for something which has even better bass as I usually listen to Hip Hop.

Trifecta is fantastic with hip hop. And if you're interested in dipping your toes into the classics and maybe scoring a deal on the used market you should consider the Empire Ears Legend X...utterly magnificent with hip hop.

Venom gives Anni a much bigger bass response. In fact, it sounds more like X.

Thank you. By bigger do you mean more elevated or more impact?

I find the Annihilator 2023’s mid-bass teetering on excessive as it is. I’m not sure more mid-bass/bass elevation is what I’m looking for.

Does Venom impacts note weight and timbre as well? I find Anni 23 a little lean at times. Particularly the treble.

I find either RN6 or XE6 great with Hip-Hop with RN6 having a slight edge but that's just me. Cable rolling XE6 and lifting it's thick mid bass helps with sub bass.

If you want exaggerated sub bass, EVO is great suggestion. Alternate to FiRs is FF Grand Maestro.

I like sub bass rumble far more than Mid Bass. Thanks for your suggestion.

Purely for Hip Hop? Trifecta is my favorite IEM so I'm biased. Hip Hop counts for maybe 20% of what I listen to. EVO never did jive with me due to it's upper mid tuning. I'd probably say go for the LX simply because it's absolutel fire with hip hop and can probably be had for a decent bargain on the used market.

Grand Maestro as an alternate to FIR or better sub bass?

As an alternate to FiR's as an IEM. It's been some time I've listened to GM while I was looking for a replacement for my EVO but I recall enjoying GM's overall and flexible tuning including bass and sub bass. I wasn't a fan of EVO's upper mid and treble tuning, elastic "plasticky" sub bass reverb which I hear on some tracks plus I had issues with driver flex but did enjoy it with certain genres and tracks.

Raven or LX are other considerations – I personally haven't auditioned it yet.

Ah, interesting. I had unsubbed when I remove Raven off my list. Despite no issues rolling my EVOs weekly I didn't want to take a chance.

This old stereo sound is perfect for 90's Hip Hop. Singularity is great but it is absolutely modern sounding.
