Awaiting impressions. There are a few that have popped up domestically and I'm curious for more than whats already out there
Saving this for my future rich adoptive uncle 🤣

I’m a foam guy. These seem to work best for me on the Indigo. N8ii as a great pairing!

Enjoy the Indigo. Congratulations! Looking forward to your impressions!

Hi everyone, quick question. Are you able to audition these multi-kilobuck IEMs somehow before buying, or is the purchase solely based on impressions of others?
Not for me in Vietnam. My purchases are based on impressions on the Watercooler. Next best thing to an audition.

Hey Cooler Crew, got a request if anyone has any input: I’m going to Vegas next weekend and was curious if there’s any audiophile-worthy experiences, retailers, etc. that any would recommend?

Some context, this is an annual long weekend getaway with three other gents I met years ago during our Executive MBA cohort, where we formed a lifelong friendship. Think a sort of band of brothers formed during a period of intense work (I STILL hate statistical analysis, lol). Anyway, we’re proud that we now have a 12-year streak of getting together for a wifey-approved, long weekend getaway to just hang together in person for a bit, and keep our connections strong despite living all over the US. We catch a show or two, grab a cabana and hang at the pool, do a nice steak dinner with post dinner cigars, gamble it up a bit (preferably at old-school 70s Elvis era casinos), and even hit the velvet rope nightclubs where we can look at the pretty young ladies (respectfully) who giggle at our middle-aged asses. Fun times, and more importantly the annual weekend has helped us keep our relationships strong.

Anyway, I usually turn off my audiophile mindset on the trip since they’re Muggles and all, but thought I might expose them (and myself) to a few aspects of the hobby Vegas-style, if we have time. Open to any suggestions if folks have them.
Speak to @HiFiHawaii808, I believe he can hook you up with a contraband head-fi dealer in Vegas. 😵‍💫

I was reading @twister6 review and he mentioned he like the Symbio F on these, wondering if I should get some tomorrow to try

In my case, I always audition before buying, i was taught that way and fortunately i live in Asia, home of the portable audio world. So if I'm eyeing a particular IEM, I try to fly over to Singapore to audition or if someone happen to have a unit in Indo, i'll just ask kindly. I only blind buy affordable chi-fi simply because they seem interesting and sometimes nice accessories...

I’m using AET07 on Indigo. They work well with several of my IEMs, including Jewel, EVO, Erlkonig. For others I use the Xelastecs, mostly.

I'm not sure I will revisit to be honest. They seemed to have other priorities than I had. Maybe they just had a bad day though. AND the best café latte in Singapore!

ouch sorry to hear that... Mind sharing your experience? As it was always a delight for me every time i come over to audition anything they have over there...

If there's no way of you getting any to audition, next best is to probably do plenty of research, no just reviews, but also try to get different opinions of different users. Best is to get all the bad points of the iem to prepare for a worst case scenario

I see good impressions from @Animagus on Softears Twilight... anyone else tried them yet? I note they are now available on Musicteck too, making a purchase all the more tempting but I'm not quite there yet...

Great first impressions, and very consistent from what I've been reading. Jewel bass + Traillii everything else would be my ideal reference IEM if I was ever in the market for one.

He already has. It's called Walkman One Bright and mimics the DMP-Z1, which the 1ZM2 mimics too. In fact when you load that profile, your system info on the original WM1Z shows 'DMP-Z1'.
I wonder if there's any comparisons 1zm2 vs mr. Walkman modded wm1a?

I have not tried those. No harm I guess! Variety is the spice of life!

In my early days I had to blind buy a little but thanks to tour units and community gatherings & generosity I've had opportunities to demo just about everything I'm really interested in over the last couple years. I rely on and greatly appreciate impressions from others, though I understand that no two people will necessarily hear any one thing the same and that there is no substitute for actually hearing something for yourself. While I believe that people's responses upon listening to a particular setup are fundamentally subjective in my experience most if not all genuine disparities between how two people hear something, upon thoughtful discussion, can be reconciled with the differences boiled down to individual preferences, sensitivities, music library, and so on. On the topic of tour units all of mine converged in my hands for the first time:

Hoping to do a little shootout/comparison of sorts in the coming days.

*fast forwards a couple of days*

SUPERMOON WINS

It has already won-- I've already heard all of these IEMs months ago and as I've posted here already many times as far as my tastes and preferences are concerned the technical capability of planar drivers coupled with my fondness for single driver setups and general digging of Campfire's tuning has made the Supermoon my favorite IEM for the time being. My aim with the shootout referenced in the earlier post will be to take a particular song from my reference library (thinking Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits) and listen to it with each IEM and report on how each of them presents it. I make no attempt to judge or rate against any standard apart from my own personal enjoyment.

Edit:

On that note the IEM currently vying for second place in my heart:
