There's just something about the 5500 that I love. Can't really explain it. It's a more enjoyable listen over the Pro 80 to me, but I'm a clarity basshead.

Go pro 80 for a more well rounded can as a means of testing the Takstar waters. Then if you like it then you will be more inclined to try out their other products.

I love my pair but I keep suggesting to replace the pads to hm5 pads with rope spacer mod.

Wanna try the 5500 now that you keep mentioning it.  I noticed you posted the 5500 in the bass club also.  Deciding between the 5500 and the M-Audio Q40 or a good bass can <$100.  Just got the ATH M50 and it just didn't wow me as much.  Maybe I over hyped it by reading all the reviews.  Maybe I need a amp or just need to break it in first?  Either way I feel I need more bass lol.

If I didn't know of or try all the other headphones out there, I would have thought the M50 was outstanding. Once you really dive into head-fi though, you can start hearing where it lacks. I don't think it has enough bass either, and my M50 will be up for sale soon too. I had to try it once though, based on its legendary status. I just can't take it seriously compared to my HE-500 and HD5500.

Ok "Clarity Basshead" might have sold me. As I think I have similar tastes.
That is one reason that I am enjoying the JVC S500 (you mentioned the similarity earlier). 
They have the bass but still quite good clarity.

I've been using taobao for some of my orders. Can you send me a link of your 5500 supplier? Something to compare to.

You can get the Gemini HSR-1000 (Takstar Pro 80) off eBay for $50-$60.
I like the sound quality of the HSR-1000 just a little better then the HI2050.
The HD6000 is like a ATH-M50(?), I prefer to use my HSR-1000 over my HD6000.

Was that just a one day sale?  It's back to 89 now for the HD6000.  Also the site says free shipping world wide, unless you meant 2 day free shipping.  Too bad they don't have the 5500 also, but Aliexpress now has the 5500 for $77 shipped from Takstar themselves.  Think I'm gonna return my M50s and buy that, lol.

I like the sound quality of the HSR-1000 just a little better then the HI2050.
The HD6000 is like a ATH-M50(?), I prefer to use my HSR-1000 over my HD6000.

I had a chance to have a quick audition with M-50 and to my ears they have similar sound signature with HD6000.
