I have really gotten to like the pro 80 for comfort, and fit and finish for the price.
I have been offered the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 for 95$, anyone tested how they compare to the pro 80? Or the comfort level?

The 770 is like a direct upgrade to the Pro 80 IMO. It's a great headphone. More controlled bass, better staging, clearer highs. Build quality is almost the same and they are light and comfy.

DT770 has no midtone, piercing highs and have inferior build, unless we are talking about the 600 ohms version, that is more balanced in the sound..
At least that is my opinion..

I'm talking about the 250 ohms. Haven't heard the the 80 or 600. I thought they'd be pretty similar in signature except for impedance matching and and usual impedance swings in the low end.

well, I did get the dt770 and at something like 90 usd. Did a quick test compared to the pro 80 with "Whole Lotta Love"' , the dt770 is much wider and and larger with almost a surround effect. In contrast the pro 80 felt like being in a small sound proofed room. So the dt770 would be better for films than the pro 80 I imagine.

On a win 8 tablet the pro 80 was "louder" with more bass. With a fiio e6 the dt770 had close to the same effect as the pro 80.

The dt770 are more comfortable, but the most surprising thing is how "wide" the music seems. Its like surround back speakers compared to the po 80.

Surprised by the big difference in sound though.  Takstar 5500 seems to be the bad buy, since the pro 80 will take the role for commuting etc.

To those considering the 5500, at same price get the pro 80 instead.
