The StratoKOSSter – A closed DIY headphone based on the Koss KSC-75 driver and Grado cup design

The hole goes through. It can function as a vent which you can (partly) block or seal completely, depending on your preferences and on the impact that the (p)leather pads have on the sound. I found that I preferred my setups with completely sealed holes. This results in a more neutral response, which I prefer.

Indeed. The plan is to get some of those cheaper Ear-Zonks and find some pleather. I think I can figure out the wrapping from past pictures in the thread. What glue did you use that didn't eat the foam?

Is there any way to increase the bass output? Different driver, more felt, felt between driver and earpads?

The leatherized bowl pads (L-cush) increase the bass output to the degree I find suitable to achieve a neutral sound signature. KSC-75 bass is not the fastest/tightest anyway. If you boost the bass further, the balance would be gone and distortion would become a real issue.

Ah okay. Thank you. Does anyone happen to have any measurements of the cup requirements? I might have someone that could make wooden cups, but they are obviously in need of measurements first.

Thank you so much.

Just making sure, all of the steps on this thread are updated, right? Any recommendations for wood types? Where I should go about getting the wood?

My latest StratoKOSSter build. Used HM5 pads this time.
The pic also compares Sennheiser Momentum and StratoKOSSter (with leatherized Grado L-pads) measurements. Quite similar, but  the treble is less rolled off in the Stratos.
