@David Giler, welcome to the Penon thread.
(Your thread) https://www.head-fi.org/threads/totl-iem-for-modern-pop-music.958777/post-16514534

I'd like to recommend the Volt
Aside from the impressions on the track samples in the thread above.
the Volt treble emanate from (4) sonion ESTs per side very carefully tuned for long listening sessions.
The set can be played for critical listening as well as all day.
Treble - they are not bright, but with air, controlled, detailed and extended.
This set is smooth, warm and technical. It is not dry sounding, very fluid especially the mids.
Excellent Bass, good rumble, the bass can be felt - it is on the quality, not quantity.
The sound field is on the large side, pretty much imaging and scale as a premium full size headphone.
You mentioned you have the M8, so power is not an issue. Its prowess can be harnessed from good current.

Great iem The Volt!
for my taste I would have liked a little more sprakle in the highs, a little more sub-bass focus instead of mid-bass and The stage a little more layered… it would have been perfect.
If I may,
Something like the Rai Penta layering. This is a very good set. By default the stage depth on the Volt is good, detached, out of head.
But not as very deep nor the higher degree of defined layering as the Penta.
On the flip side, we get a very wide staging, far from stage congestion of any sort, which is absent on the Penta.
On complex tracks, we love how the Volts organise instruments, voices, their 3d effects - all in equal measure of scale in the perceived sound field.
The pair can generate a very decent layering, that can define the main voice normally @ the middle centre, percussion behind it, guitars flanked left and right.
Right now I'm enjoying the set, easily get lost in the Music. To combine smooth (pleasantness) and very good amounts of technicality...

Is there any info on the price? :)

$1299, I believe! Incredibly excited for these, despite loving DDs so much.

Yeah, DD is love, DD is life. But it's curious and full BAs sets are growing, U12T is a good example!

The Bird, VE and other well known brands re-popularized the excellent BA bass reproduction

Re; the Legend, They are vented BA receivers for the bass, so there should be bass that can be felt, there can be similar air pressure as DD pressure...

4 vented BAs! Fingers crossed it's of decent quality too.

This is Legend with switches 000 (vocal mode). Atleast from the graph, in this mode, it will probably have some Penon 'romance' in the mids.

Fingers crossed as well! But if we forecast, Penon is already musical, fluid, dynamic (very pleasant), very addictive.
And if we add a little more technicalities across the entire range, lift the treble a bit, add little sparkles without exceedingly bright, NOT overcooked.
On top of those, a little Deeper sound field, thereby having a little bit more of layering and the end result - a better 3d holographic imaging.
Then the LEGEND name should be befitting...

Exactly. The prospect of what 13BA can do for the technicalities is what excites. Fingers and toes crossed.

I agree, and I think the legend will be legendary!
