honestly, i don´t understand your post.
i did not say that the T1 is worse than the hd-800. i say that the hd-800 and the T1 are two complementary headphones.
namely that both can coexist together
in my opinion, i think that the hd-800 needs more attention with the system.
The T1 is more universal compared to the HD-800.
Only this.
About the threads, honestly i don´t care.
i speak about the stuffs that i had in my home

I think amplification has a massive impact on headphones like T1s and HD800s which are transparent / accurate / sensitive enough to highlight the sound chain and I'm not talking about the quality of amplification so much as voicing and "personality" if different amps. Combine that with different personal tastes and it's a recipe for all the debate we hear around these top end cans.

how apt...yes CHEF :p

well sometimes you know we didn't read every lines in a post , and i was not sure if you were talking about popularity of HD800/T1 or that the HD800 needs to be more carefull about amplification .  Now after reading twice it's quite clear ...

And i never said  HD800> T1

or that you implied it .

I use T1 with A1, which is a combo recommended by beyerdynamic itself. But I have to go as far as 3 quarters of the volume knob to get a decent volume. Is this normal? Am I missing anything? Many thanks.

BTW, there's no gain switch or whatsoever on the A1 unit.

I tried the T1 with the A1 and that would have been WAY too loud for me.

i need to listen more when my amplifier retourns.
but i think that is an universal headphone, fairly neutral.
i would like a little more impact in the low frequencies.
but this last T1 impressed me more compared to my first.

Is your source outputting at least 2 Volts? Most smartphones and some portable DACs output around 1V - 1.5V which requires more volume on the amp.
