Guys, is there anything with the same refinement ("real like-like sound"), but LESS bass amount than the T1?
- The HD800 has too much of a recessed mids (and i'm a "mid-range lover")

thanks...

Try the PMx2

I'd give the HE-560 a try. I would've kept mine but I don't want a new amp for it.

You should try the AKG K702.
On a very good setup preferably.

I'm sorry, I guess I didn't see you want less bass than the T1. I read that as brass. That is a very unusual request. Usually people want more bass. Try the T5p gen 1.

Had the K702
not as life-like.

The timbre was a bit off. it was analytical and accurate, bass-shy . the sound was too dry.
I don't like thin notes (I really like my HD598, but some refinement is missing).

What was the DAC/Amp?

Probably, less than ideal match for the K702

Matrix HPA-2 is a good match
Bifrost 4490 + Asgard 2 is very good as well
Gungnir Multibit + Bryston BHA-1 could be the great (more expensive) option

All in all, the T1 is a bit superior than the K702 in terms of ultimate transparency but it has more bass. If you want something in between you can get the K702 and spend the extra money on a more expensive setup to make it closer to the T1 (with cheaper setup) in terms of overall sound quality retaining the less bassy presentation. Otherwise you could simply get the T1 v1 and get a DAC/Amp that's as far from bassy as possible. Or you can also get the T1 or the K702 and use a tiny bit of EQ with a quality equalizer like DMG Equality to tweak the sound to your liking.

You are aiming to a very fine line and best chances are your ideal (just like the T1 but with less bass) headphone does not exist.
You should look into the STAX line of headphones, some of them might do the trick, although electrostatics have some extra complications for sure.

Any good DAC / Amp that is as good as the Mojo but less than $1k?

Suggest a Grado PS500e or RS2e if you like mids, less bass than T1, and easier to drive.  Another option if you like DIY is to build or buy a SennGrado or one of the other drivers used (Ypsilon/Magnum) in wood cups.  I have a HD-800, T1, HE-560, K7XX and a few others and I think a good SennGrado will hold its own.

Have you tried the HD600.  It will possibly have a bit too much mid-bass, but if you liked the general sound sig - then you could have a look at the Shure SRH1840.  It is very flat, but by your description, might be somewhat toward the signature you are after.
