I changed the pads after 5 minutes and like the sound even more. Better low end and fullness to the already great sound and detail
I find T1 very capable of great bass response, if more punch is required, earpads as in your case and eq can help it for sure. My T1.1 with even little bass eq can have as much punch or even more than DT990 have.

It makes sense to be changed cable in the headphones?
(I am using stock cables)

It makes sense to replace drivers is in headphones? A new headphone drivers priced at € 400.
While I am playing well, but they missing the soundstage and detail.
I guess I had to play many hours of pink noise.

not unless they are defective, in which case you should return the headphone. The only "mainstream" headphones wrto which you may find the T1 lacking in detail and soundstage are the HD800. Forget the pink noise, if your drivers are brand new, let some bass-heavy music play on a loop for a day or two. It won't add any to soundstage but should loosen up the drivers a bit and improve bass detail.

The "burn in" process of the T1 is more about having the earpads slowly conforming to your head contour to give better sealing (and bass response). Sealing improves over time as the earpad deform and absorb moisture.

So just use the T1 to listen to music as usual and don't worry about burn in. You will find the bass improve after 1 hour of wearing as the earpad deform and moisture build up.

The only official replacement earpads are the ones for DT 990?

The DT990 pads are the same as the 880 and presumably the 770 as well. They are comfortable on my other beyers but they do tend to need replacement often because the foam is pretty low density.

no, the DT990 and DT770 pads are definitely not the same.

Also, one can order the T1G2 pads (part #916080) from the US store if you call them and ask for that part number. You may have to use the pdf form.

I don't know about the EDT-T1V

For a dummy here, what are the differences between the DT-990 and T1 pads?  Different padding? softness of the velour?  I can't tell the difference with both of them in front of me.

I still have the original I think, got the T1 used, 6 months old so I would think its the original pads as they look like they have been used a little and I gave them a wash right after I got the headphones while my DT-990 still has the originals.

From what I understand the T1 gen 1 pads are the black version of the DT990 pads. The T1 gen 2 pads are different

I haven't seen or heard anything about the T1V pads other than they might exist in Europe.
